Default what's needed for srt to sxt conversion??

Im thinking about doing this conversion for a while and especially after seeing matto's car i think it would be awesome. Im thinking all I need is a 03+ front and rear bumpers...stock neon wheels and hood. I'll just take the wing off. Im assuming the tail lamps will be fine? One other thing....would stock neon wheels fit 205 tires? Anyway If anyone has any input or good places to get these parts let me know.

i think de winging it is cool, but thats going a little too far......imo it would look ugly as.......well, a regular neon....the srt looks sweet as hell stock, why do something like this to it?

well the main reason id do it is so it would look like a regular neon. I mean of course the srt looks better but what would be better than beating a 350z or an evo looking like an sxt....going to the local 1/8 mile and running mid 8's on street tires and having the crowd look like I just think it would be really fun and i also get tired of getting reved at from across the street and having people stare and ricers walk up and ask dumbass questions and say stupid stuff. I just want to have a little fun that's all

But once people hear the turbo, they know it's no regular neon.

haha, yeh thatll be one advantage.....i can imagine the look on some ppls faces after you smoke em, but you do know about the new sxt design with the srt design package.......people that dont know wont be able to tell the diff, and once these cars hit the street, ppl are going to think the srt is some 16 second garbage, because the only ppl that are going to buy the sxt with the srt design package will be wanna be ricers, trying to race ppl, and make OUR cars look bad in the process.........

You will need to do the front end and the hood together or you will get an overlap/gap depending on what you switch. Evidently the SXT front fascia fits without any issues...

Just find a local SXT to switch decklids with.

I have no idea about the wheels/tires.

Why even buy an SRT-4, just buy an SXT and put in a SRT 2.4L engine. narf. Just find a wrecked SRT, there was one for sale on here earlier, buy an 02-03 SXT for like 10k, 2-3k for the SRT4 engine, and there ya go, alrdy have the body.

Definitely keep your stuff. I just went back to stock srt parts and it cost me $1750.

You need 2003 or later fascia, but I think any 2nd gen hood will fit (I know an 02 hood will fit.) Don't do CF because you'll need to massage the bracing under the hood to keep it from hitting the water neck.

You'll need to re-route the fuel line or it'll rub the hood. I just replaced the line and rail with the perrin kit.

I'm sure that teh large fmic will fit as long as it doesn't sit out more than the bumper brace did.

The 15" snowflakes fit on my car, but rub the front calipers on others. I've run tires as large as 205/65-15 witrhout rubbing.

If you remove the side skirts, prepare for hours of fun removing all of the tape that held them on. Also, you'll be left with small holes under the door where they used to be. They aren't noticable unless you get on you knees though. If you don't remove them it looks kinda weird to me.

Whatever people say though, I don't think they are ugly - you can do a lot depending on what you are trying to achieve. These 2 pics are of the same car.... One stock, one not so much.....
