Ive read some how to's and have decided to polish some things in my engine bay. It really makes a difference!! It was pretty easy too. Just sand it, clean it real well, and then polish to a shine! It took a total of about 2 hours start to finish. I really like the look. Next im going to polish the intake manifold and then powdercoat the VC Eblue with polished letters. I think its gonna look great. Ill update the thread when done. For now, here are some pics of the MM.

No, you don't. ^ Actually, you can take the upper and lower MM off, and the engine won't fall. The frame rail bracket mount actually suports the motor.
And, and the MM looks good dude. What was your process?

It is easier to put them in if you have a jack so you can move the engine around a bit to get everything to line up
Looks pretty damned good and x2 on the process(at least more in depth)

This is what happens when boredom sits in...............I polished mine also , but did the A/C lines as well.....
i like the a/c lines me and a friend were thinking about doing the same thing. did you sand the a/c lines before you polished them? if so what grit? and what grit on the MM?
1. sand with coarse sandpaper
2. sand with fine sandpaper
3. sand out any big scuffs or scratches until you get down to a 800+ grit paper
4. mothers polish + rags + elbow grease
if you're doing something that is large & flat, you could use a buffer or a random orbit sander, but with something small like that it's hard to get in there ...
I polished my damn valve cover ... looking back at it, it was a complete waste of time - took me a good 6 hours to polish
be sure to pick up mothers polish ... it comes in a small white can with a red label on it
if you want to get it looking real nice, pick up some nev-r-dull ...
this is how I do it...
1. sandblast
2. coarse sandpaper
3. fine sandpaper until I get up to 800 grit
4. mothers polish
then once it's looking pretty much perfect then step 5. nev-r-dull
the nev-r-dull will help with corrosion & pitting ... then just hit it up with nev-r-dull every few months & it'll look the same as the first day you polished it
