Default Paint for A pillar

is there somewhere i can get the factory looking paint to paint my pillar. i picked up a universal dual gauge pod from my friend for 5 bucks but its black. i guess i cant complain it was pretty cheap. i can put up with it being black, but i would like it color matched. thanks.

Did you want it that tan color or the gray color of the dash? SEM makes an interior paint line that comes in a rattle can. Its available through your local autobody supply store. They should make the tan, but I've only bought the AZ Agaate one from them which is number 71233 I believe. I color matched mine to the dash.

You can kind of see it in these shots:

Its SEM Classic Coat Flexible coating. Its number17233 Daim/Chrys AZ Agate. Its about $15 a can, you can get it at autobody supply stores. Pick up some BullDog Adhesion Promoter as well. Scuff the pillars up with a gray scuff pad, wet. Then clean it off with some wax/tar/grease remover or soap with no wax or silicone in it. Spray two coats of the Bulldog, and wait the recommended time before spraying the SEM can. Spray 3-4 coats of the SEM to get it to match the dash well. Let it dry for at least 24 hours before you put them back in the car.

Oh and thanks for the compliments.

Thats exactly what I did. I painted all six of them. I painted the seatbelt anchor cover and the slider cover inside the B pillar panther pink though, for a subtle but nice touch.

Nope the little triangular cover on the seatbelt anchor needs to come off first. Put your hands underneath it and push upwards. It will slide off the belt's bolt. The bolt is a large T-45ish Torx. Be sure you use at least a 3/8" preferably 1/2" drive so you don't strip the bolt when trying to remove it. After you remove the belt/bolt the pillar will pull downward just like the a pillars and c pillars do.

Once you get it removed, flip it over. The little piece in the center (slide piece) pops right out either by hand or with a flat head screwdriver.

Scuff em up and paint!

Its also easier to get the pillars into and out of the car if you pull down the weatherstripping on either side of them. Makes it much easier to put them back it especially.
