Default Need suggestion on a place for custom paint

So I've been seeing a bunch of people in my neighborhood with flame reds. Mostly young kids blasting their Lil Wayne and shit. I would like to have my car look unique and be the only one like it near me. That's just how I am with cars, so I've been looking into some new paint.

Anyways, what would be the best place to get a decent quality custom paint job for an AFFORDABLE price? I know there's no such thing as a show-quality paint job for cheap. I'm looking for either a franchise or a private place near Chicago to do a custom-color basic gloss. Thanks!

the best paint and body shops are NOT franchises and national affairs...but good luck finding one...Just look at some of the work coming out of the body shop your considering and remember .... price is what you pay...value is what you get...

nice quality paint jobs arent cheap...some accents or tribals or whatever may be a cheaper alternative like a two tone...

anyway good luck...to far away from chicago to help

You may have better luck with this if you post it in your local section, since the majority of us in the Visual/Mod section aren't from Chicago we won't know what shops are good/bad by you.

True. I should have done that regarding local places. Sry! As far as franchises go, is Earl Scheib or Maaco reasonable?

They're reasonable sure, but you get what you pay for. Maaco and Earl Scheib will not remove glass or moldings, they'll simply tape them off. You'll end up with hard edges, intense overspray and a really orange peely finish.

Save the extra money and have it done at a reputable shop.

I don't have a set budget but I'm pretty flexible. What is the place called and how much did they charge (if you don't mind me asking)?
