Discolored guard around windows? - Here is your solution!!!
I detailed my car for the first time a while back and must have gotten some wax on the rubber guards around the windows. Either that or my wash (Meguiars Gold Class Wash) stripped something off of it?
See pics below, how can I restore this to the deep dark look? I tried veggie oil and that didn't last too long :\
This has been discussed many times now. I think the general consensus is the white is oxidation. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser should bring it back to the original color. Some have used a product called Back to Black to make them black again.
Mr. Clean magic eraser followed by back to black on the lower piece. On the piece around the window itself (your last picture) just use wax/tar/grease remover...because that's wax.
i just bought a knock off magic eraser and worked flawlessly...at our local HEB they have the store brand for $1 and worked good!

You can usually find the Mr. Clean version on ebay in a big unlabelled box for dirt cheap. And they work great around the house for stuff too. I was honestly shocked by some of the stuff they work on. No more blood stains on the floor

No more crayon on the walls anymore. Just don't use it to clean your own arms.

Very nice I'm picking the stuff up today and will see how it goes. Love your car by the way, been looking through all your guides and the SRTOTM thread...
All I can say is wow Even though pink isn't my thing, I'd trade mine in a heartbeat haha
Dealership or junkyard to pick them up. I don't think they are too terribly expensive. Easiest way is the eraser method honestly. Painting, unless done correctly, could cause problems down the road with flaking and chipping.
