I've had a cobra brand radar detector for 2-3 years. It's saved my ass plenty of times. They've got like a 2 mile range, or something like that. When I had my old 2nd gen neon, I'd put it where the 6 disc changer is in the srt-4(to keep it out of the sun, and to keep it out of view at night), and it would still pick up radar signals(I knew they weren't false signals, because I watched a cop drive by), even though it was almost as low as the floor of the car.
