Default whats the best WGA?

i am planning on getting the greddy boost controller soon... but i've heard you should get an upgraded WGA before actually installing the boost controller, otherwise its not really doing any good... well i was wondering whats the best one out there? AGP, billet? need some info on it and if the install is a snap or a b*tch! i can work my way around the engine bay but the space around the stock WGA is kinda tight... hope to hear alot of responses!

AGP, or Forge. The forge has a weak diaphragm, but I like the way it holds boost better than the AGP. The AGP's spring is too strong IMO. The hardest part of installing the wga is getting the heat shield off. If you can get those bolts off, it's cake. There's no adjusting with the Forge, but the AGP usually requires some tuning, which sucks too.

STG II WGA is not bad for a budget. You can get a used one for about $65 - $75.00 I got a brand new one for $45

I am stock PCM and I can Spike 17-19 depending on Adjustment and hold 15 to redline with the STG II WGA. It fits like stock and you don't have to bend your heatshield. Some people hate them, some people love them. I went through 3 WGA and wound up with the STG II. Keep in mind that with any upgraded WGA you will always need to fine tune it. An EBC is an excellent choice for an upgraded WGA. I actually had to have my WG Flapper a hair open to prevent the Partial throttle Boost which was very annoying. I am using stock lines and works great no BC. With our turbo's being so small, then can fully spool at about 2.5K RPMS which kills drivability and can throw codes if you do not mod your TIP Sensor with a bleed. In any case, you just have to play around with the settings. Any upgrade to the stock WGA is an improvement period!

There are other mods I would do first before a WGA and increasing boost pressure. Intake and exhaust are first on my list. Anything that you do to increase air flow and exhaust flow is far better then just turning up boost. Your engine will not need more boost if you increase flow. Of course these are more expensive then just putting on a WGA, but worth it.
