I been looking thru the forums with out much success. Any one know where exactly in need to install this plate at. I want to do this myself, i am not much of a gear head so i am finding it a little trouble some. I manage to take my whole intake out but not sure where to put this plate on. ANy info would be much appreciated
It goes on the turbo. I wouldn't suggest the rice plate due to it being huge boost leak. Well not at first but over time it will. If you search the forums in the for sell section you will find pics of peoples stock set up for sell and see exactly where it goes. It is a super easy install.
Pull the intake and the battery out. Look on the bottom forward side of the compressor housing where a small valve is attached. You can follow the pink line from your solenoids to the valve. Remove the pink line from the valve and the 3 mounting bolts and then the diverter valve. Install the plate in this order: gasket on the turbo, blue plate, then diverter valve on the blue plate. Make sure the kidney shape cut out on the blue plate matches the kidney shape cut out on the turbo. Tighten the 3 mounting bolts down and reinstall the pink line. Install your battery and intake and your done. Start the car and give it a few revs and listen for a release of air.
Like both of the forum members said, the blue plate will become a leak after a little while. And the blue rice plate will never perform as good as an external BOV. After you install the plate, save your pennies and get an external. Trust me you'll love that alot more and there easier to install.
Just throwin this out there.... I have had my "ricer" blue BOV plate from mopar for over 3 years now. And just not even 3 months ago it was swapped from the stock turbo to the StG3 turbo kit withOUT replacing the gasket... boost leak tested and STILL NO boost leaks what so ever from it... went from 14 PSI up to 22 with no problems... thats just my .02
I'm with Shibby on this one, I ran the rice plate for a few years with no problems, and no leaks. Most people who say it sucks and leaks have never used one, fucked up the install, or read about someone on the forums, who new this other guys brother who read about someone on the forums having a leaky ass rice plate, and now Mopar sucks. Go figure.
Its almost impossible to screw up unbolting the screws and putting in the plate withe the longer ones. My 2 years after install would leak like crazy, thats why I went to a greddy type-s and then to a synapse.

IIRC there was a certain way the blue plate was to be installed on the turbo. Plus the inner third bolt was a pita to get to much less tighten if you didnt have a wratcheting wrench. But the diaphram in the factory surge valve could be come torn, brittle, or if the lines werent zip-tied, leak.
had mine on for 8 months. had 0 problems out of it until i went dsp crazy and started spiking 22 and holding 17-18 then it would leak. it can only stand up to so much. lol.
