Hey Chris,
check it out,
My car is really reliable now (knocks on wood) You may not remember, but I used to have "too much boost and torque" I used to boost around 20lbs. That got me into "trouble" when I raced it.
Anyways, Artimishoke, he used to be here, and I got together and I tried to fine tune his ebc. Same one I have. He also has S2. His S2 wga didn't like it at all!! It wouldn't hold the boost. So you can still be safe with your car if you know what's going on. The "spark plug incident" I believe is do to the fact that it was an MBC and there was really no way of watching the true boost levels. Coulda been a big spike. Not sure. On the ebc you have a feature for safety that you set it to a certain boost level, say 18lbs and set your overboost to 20 or 21lbs then you can set a percent in to drop it, which it does automatically down to safe levels incase you over boost. That is one of the main reasons I got an ebc.
The map clamp is very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing! I know how to set it up and get it fine tuned but you
definately need a wideband reader! When you lean out the fuel that much you get better top end hp, but your car can go BOOM! NOT GOOD! I have always put octane booster or vpower in my car almost every fillup. Vpower is to expensive but so far I have had no detination problems or "pinging" at all.
I have to run right now but I'll give you a shout when I get back!
Joe
