Default weight reduction question

ok i read the weight reduction sticky but was wondering if anyone actually cut the spare tire space out and screwed or welded a piece of sheet metal to cover the hole...would that affect anything with the body maybe twisting or anything of that nature..
thanks

I don't think it would be cost effective or yield any significant benefits, certainly not worth it in my opinion.

I was just thinking about the same thing...
I will also remove that section and will replace with some superlight material:P
I don't want to kill the surprise, but once we are ready with my new setup...well it will be something new for sure
