Default Track report - World Challenge SRT-4 and Stage 3 SRT-4

Gainesville test and tune day - 6/13/09
Temps close to 100 degrees - most cars were 1 second off typical times

WC SRT-4 - David driving
1st track day with the World Challenge SRT-4, struggled with brake bias, before next event I will have Motec data analyzed for brake balance and hopefully will be closer to balanced. I am not sure what this car is capable of yet, I am hoping low 55 seconds and would love to see a high 54 sec lap.

Stage 3 SRT-4 - Bryn driving
My wife drove our "street" SRT-4 to a 61.6 sec run, she is still improving everytime at the track and having a blast. I drove the car one month ago to a few 57.2 sec laps, and believe the car is capable of a high 56 sec lap time.

Improvements I see to get better lap times:
Both cars - wider sticker tires
WC SRT-4 - improve braking and corner entry (maybe a driver mod here)
Street SRT-4 - stage 3R coilovers are no match for Motons the car bounces and skips where the Moton car glides, weight loss program, suspension relocation.

Here is a short video from this weekend:
YouTube - SRT-4 Stage 3 and SRT-4 World Challenge at GR track on 6-13-09

Also for reference here is a video of a 54.5 sec lap in our 08 Viper SSG with ACR aero and moton shocks running Pilot Sport Cup tires:
YouTube - 2008 Viper Coupe SSG first track day - ACR mods

Hopefully next track day I can post of video of the WC SRT-4 in the 55 sec range. Feel free to critique my driving as well, I know there is room for improvement.

Driver mod notwithstanding, the difference in the way the cars sound is incredible! Your (street car ?) blew my dog off the back of my couch with very deep bass sound as opposed to Wc car which sounds a might tinier. I'm so glad that someone is still running these old antiquated cars LOL!!! Wish I could be You, What with the wife driving and You getting to drive some real fine iron! Good on You, and keep the vid's coming

I was surprised how different the cars sound, also for the video I lowered the volume significantly on the WC SRT-4. The WC SRT-4 uses a Maxxfab side exhaust and the street SRT-4 is running a rear exit B&B exhaust, neither car has cats or mufflers. Also both cars are running 100 octane race fuel. I wonder if the additional weight of the street SRT-4 makes the motor develop more torque and give it that deeper sound.

My wife Bryn is making great strides in the stage 3 SRT-4. Next step is to decide if we want to put a roll cage in her car, build another WC SRT-4 for her, or shop for a T2 SRT-4. As far as I know the only WC SRT-4 for sale is the Motorsport Gallery car(ex-Robb Holland car) and last time I checked they wanted $85K. I would like for both of us to have safe track cars.

Mine hasnt seen the track yet this year and could be leased or rented It is set up to run the GT Sprints up here in Canada
It use to run Canadian Turing Car and it would need to be powered down for World Challenge
Its not quite Robb Holland level but it has Motons and suspension relocation with big Willwood brakes

Are you going to run the WC car unrestricted or keep it around WC power levels?

I have ECU's for both configurations. Right now I plan to run unrestricted. Later I may run the restrictor to see how my times compare to WC times. I would like to run the car in NARRA(Viper Days) and PBOC(Porsche BMW Owners Club) events. I really enjoyed the PBOC Winterfest at Sebring this year and also ran twice with NARRA as Sebring. I will mostly track in the Southeast the rest of this year. This is the 1st caged racecar I have driven, so far I love the feel of the car. I think at the Gainesville track the car would be faster with a restrictor though, I was really pedaling the car around the whole track.
