Default SCCA/NASA Class?

I'm looking to setup the SRT to run in SCCA or NASA but I'm not sure which class our cars fall into since I'm only familiar with BMW Club Racing. I'd like to keep the car as driveable on normal roads as possible. What class/classes do you guys recommend? I'm not an autocross fan so I'm looking for strictly road course racing.

First question would be what Mods do you have on the car?

I have a shit ton of mods and I run in TTS with NASA. :

Of course this is once you progress through the HPDE program (which has unlimited mods BTW)

For NASA the car would run GTS-4 and BMWCCA is D-Mod.

Also as far as mods go the car is stock besides wheels, lowering springs, and a catless downpipe.

That's if you convert it to RACE specs.

Right now your car is eligable for HPDE and Time Trials only (unless you have a full cage too...)

If you have done considerable HPDE's, then you could sign up with NASA for an HPDE 3/4 session and get a check ride from an instructor and move to Time Trials (if you pass the check ride) and at that point your car would likey be in TTE or TTD depending on your tire choice.

Check out the TT rules here:

In my regional racing in SCCA, i've seen a few SRT's running in T-1 i believe. But keep in mind to run scca your car basically needs to be built as a race car. Street legal becomes difficult, or a pain in the ass to switch back and forth.

Would I have to do HPDE's since I already have GTS-4 track time along with D-Mod time?
Also has anyone run in the Performance Touring class? I printed out all the documentation for it and our cars are eligible without major modification from what I understand. There was a blue SRT that ran in that class that came to the track with plates on it.(not like that means it really was street legal)

T-2. We can run in regional ITE type classes as well, which is preferable, with the mods already on the car going back to a Touring build (full interior and stock everything cept safety gear) would sorta suck.

David

Edit: just reread the thread and mods list. Touring-2 would be pretty easily actually. Just change back to the stock springs.
