Default questions about autocrossing

i have two cars srt4 and c6 corvette
so far i autocrossed the vette

but not sure what would be better to mod vette for it or srt4

how is autocrossing srt4?

any suggestion what to get and how to make srt4 better for autocross
also i want to makes rt faster, what would be most reliable mod? to get like 350 hp and how much money should i expect spending

also vette is my summer time and srt4 is winter car, so iwant to make sure i could drive srt in the winter with no problem

i just want to compare what would be better or smarter way

Thanks

What class?
How much you wanna spend?
How good of an autocrosser are you?

Then we can start from there.

The vette will cause fewer headaches and be much more competitive in whatever class you chose. It's also going to be more expensive to run. The vette fits in perfect in SS, ASP, and BP as you build it up. ASP can be crazy with those.

autox the srt4, then get back to us...with YOUR preference, NOT ours.

Agree with the above. Just ran an auto-x in my wife's 350z and although I am faster (at this point) in my srt-4, I love the tail out fun.

Point is, if you are trying to become competitive, pick the best car for it's class and begin by improving the driving skills. If you are just wanting to have fun, drive them both and decide which one is more fun...hate to say it but most likely the vette. You will probably also have more people to get information from in regards to driving and setup.

As much as I love competing with my SRT, I would take the Vette hands down. The C4 guys are a serious group. They do not F around, and they consistantly post some of the fastest times of the day.

Despite it's age the 89(?) Vette is still a force in A Stock.

Sorry to go off topic but I'm a drag racer thinking of trying autocross. Now my question is are all the tracks the same? (I'd Hope not!)Wouldn't a vette be better for bigger tracks and the SRT better for smaller tighter tracks? Swinging the tail out sounds like a lot of fun but on a tight track wouldn't that cause you to be penalized for hitting cones if you got to wide? Secondly were do you usally find autocross races. Thanks for any really info you can provide. This is the SRTforum so I'll expect a few smart assed stupid comments throw in just because.

every autocross course is different, but usually carry similar elements in terms of the types of corners scattered around. The vette, because of the torque and grip levels, usually does very good on tight courses. They have problems in skinny spots, but properly driven I've seen them turn top times in all sorts of course designs. I'd try to find your NASA and SCCA regions to find events near you.

Oh I'm sure the Corvette is an awesome car in just about any performace challange it faces. I was just asking because it's a much larger car then a SRT-4. Now being front drive what's the biggest issue with racing a SRT-4? I would guess it would be the plowing thru turns.
