I was thinking about joining NASA and noticed they have HPDE 1, 2, 3 & 4 (I think that is what I saw).

I had an SCCA regional license and road raced out East for a couple years and since then have done about 8 to 10 open track days...would I still have to start at HPDE 1 or how does it work?

Thanks.

if you still have paperwork you can probably be placed at a higher level right from the start. Usually you're asked to contact the event chair or lead instructor (it'll say on the website) prior to the event and give them some info.

Default event registration

I had run with a few different clubs before my first outing with Nasa. When You join that will be part of Your sign up sheet. I think since I had no license per se I had to run hpde 1 to start. But me and my instuctor had a couple of good drives in the morning sessions so they bumped me right up to hpde 2 for the afternoon. Now I'm not knocking the time well spent with instructor thing but they were running 1&2 together with 2 starting first. That is alot of practice passing. And I had just changed some things and was trying to put down a couple of laps. Seriously hpde 1 is for people who basically have never really driven. And 2 is very much more of the same. I will be trying to get into 3 in my next couple of drives so I can start using my transponder again. Just put coilovers on car and want to see just how much that helped. Hey it's $45 to join Nasa and you get a subscription to GRM a pretty dang nice mag. So I hope You can make it out on May 24th, be nice to have another neon out there.

I did join NASA but will not be able to make it out to the event this month. Look forward to one of their future events.

Going to run the ROVAL next Friday with Speedventures

Have fun at Willow! Unfortunately, I'm only going on the 25th.
