Default Milwaukee National Tour 7/19/08 discussion

I'm moving this thread over from Jason thread (HELP ACR Autocrossers!)

Hi Jason,
Did you do the camber fix to get a -2.4 up front? They actually seem to rub less w/ the more negative camber. I still get that small area of rub that you are probably seeing also. I call it "Strut Shaving" the tire. In the rear, I think the 245/45-16s fit because I have "Strut Shaved" them in the front already. I have the factory -.9 to -1.0 camber in the rear. I still think the car will rotate better with the 245/225 combo, I was just checking to see if they fit. Those A6s on the back will never wear out.

As for the Hoosier contingency program, I think you can sign up at the event. Can anyone confirm that?

In looking at the list of people running DS so far at the Milwaukee Tour, it could be interesting w/
  • 3 BMWs
  • 2 Type Rs
  • 2 ACRs
Here are the National Results from last year
Adam Ansorge - 9th (95.422) 50.609 + 44.813
Bob Clark - 19th (96.275) 50.804 + 45.471
Mike Mitchell - 25th (97.874) 51.321 + 46.553
Chris DeLey - 29th (98.072) 51.369 + 46.703
Ken Stefancic - 37th (101.352) 55.342(1) + 46.010
Matt Murphy - 39th (101.726) 52.031 + 49.695(1)
Jason Kuks - MIA

Here's the results of last years Milwaukee Tour:
Bob Clark - 4th (124.255) 61.914 + 62.341
Adam Ansorge - 6th (125.494) 62.424 + 63.070
Ken Stefancic - 7th (125.849) 62.268 + 63.581
Matt Murphy - 11th (127.277) 63.630 + 63.647
Chris DeLay - 15th (128.617) 63.707 + 64.910
Jason Kuks - MIA
Mike Mitchell - MIA

It seems like Bob and Adam should be fighting it out for 1st and 2nd w/ the rest falling in behind (if everything stays the same as last year).

Things that could effect this:
What will Jason do?
Will the changes Ken made make a difference (so far promising but still running that damn R3S03/R3S04 setup)?
Which Bob Clark will show up (the fast or slow Bob)?
Who will still sign up to attend the event?

Hey look who signed up to go to the Milwaukee tour,

Letkeman, JT 2002 Audi TT Quattro (sponsored by 90 run Hoosiers)

This will be a good gauge on how people do. JT finished 2nd at the Milwaukee Tour last year and 2nd at Nationals. So the tires won't be fresh, but if I know JT, he'll still do well.

Now if only the Borowskis show up in the old stolen Type "R", that would be fun!

Two more have added, Jason has a co-driver and we have added a Subaru. DS is getting bigger by the day. This may be the biggest DS class of the National Tour.

45 Wagner, Matt 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Limited Slv Falken Milwaukee Region

104 Kolbach, Josh 2005 Dodge SRT-4 ACR Wht Hoosier Milwaukee Region

I'd like to come out but I need a break. A local event then Peru, then the pro solo then a local event this past weekend. I all but burned up a set of Hoosier 245-40-17's in a month.

Pretty sure a non-existing car won't pass tech. Not much to attach the numbers to either
But, do not fret, I'm sure Chris will do a fine job of keeping everyone honest. He knows the secret ways of Lucky Polish Lugnut
Results from Milwaukee - Minnesota Autosports Club for those looking to have some inside info

JT should do quite well too - he hasn't driven the car since shortly after nationals, and the tires have xx runs on them, but with AWD, who needs grippy tires :P This isn't a slam on JT, as much as it is a slam on his car btw. Hope you have a decent drive down to Milwaukee JT - hope your projected 1am Saturday arrival isn't just that.

As for Steve, he sold his SRT4 a few weeks ago (just in time to have the proposal to move the car to GS come out - ask him how he feels about that if you're into verbal abuse and physical violence btw) and has been busy with Detroit Region RE stuff. Word on the street is he's tapped into rally-cross too.

Did I miss anyone/anything?

And also, something that came up on a local group:

Oh, and make sure you pull to the line with correct numbers if you're a two driver car or your run goes bye bye

BB

This can't be stated strongly enough. With the bar code on your
helmet, you get scanned as you come up to the line. T&S knows who is
driving the car. If the numbers on BOTH sides of the car don't match
what the computer says your number is, that run will be DSQ'd. From
what I've seen this year, that is a zero tolerance policy.

-Windscreen"

Well, that's enough post whoring for one month now :P
