Any experience with this company? They seem to be the only players in the States.
What are your opinions of track insurance? Obviously this is for HPDE, I figure if you're running time trials you should have a car you're willing to write off. But I'm not pushing for that extra 10th in HPDE/Equivilant so I don't really expect to crash, and I'll always pit to get away from anyone I don't like, but if something did go wrong it would be nice to know I had insurance.
If you're tracking it at all you should be prepared to write it off, as a general rule of thumb. Doesn't matter if you're going all out or not. Even at 8/10ths that puddle of coolant that wasn't there the last lap can catch you out.
Other than that I, fortunately, haven't had to experience track insurance.
As far as i know your regular insurance should cover it, since HPDE is a driving school and not a head-to-head race. I even know a guy who crashed his car at Streets of willow and insurance paid for the damages since he wasn't racing...

They used to, but almost all companies have realized that even though it isn't a race there's still tremendous risk. So check with your provider, I would say 95% of companies don't cover it anymore. Anyways, I decided to get the insurance for my event this past weekend at Watkins Glen. Can't report on their crash coverage, but I've read good things. Obviously you never hope to have an incident, but for $95 which covered the car and mods for 2 days, $17,000 total value or something, it's worth paying $360 for the 4 weekends I plan on doing this year.
