Default Installing 5point harness without roll bars or cage...

I was thinking for when I go on road course.
To install 5 point harness what if I ran should straps straight back to rear deck top and use Reinforcement plates

remove back seat so it is out of the way..

run the rears to the lower rear seat belt mounts. i would trust the cars factory belt holes of a 2 tack welded mount plate.

just thought the angle might be too far down..
plates go under the sheet metal and u drill hole for bolt. The plate would have to rip thru sheet metal.

You don't want to run the shoulder straps down to the floor, that's way too great of an angle to run them. You want them within 10-15* of your shoulders if I'm not mistaken.

Right. I've heard its very unsafe to mount them far down at the floor because it causes the harness to compress your spine downward.

Yes, very unsafe. Also, I don't think you should even be considering harnesses without at least a 4 point roll bar.

It wouldn't be safe to install 5-points without a roll bar or roll cage. The sub belt will not let you submarine in the event of a rollover. This means your head will get crushed from the roof of the vehicle. Also, running the shoulder belts at incorrect angles could equal spinal/neck injury. You are also risking damage to your hips, crotch, etc. from improperly mounted lap belts.

Please consider a Scroth setup that is made for vehicles without roll cages.

I can't believe that most people don't consider this when purchasing 5-point harnesses!

Schroth Harness Guide and Harness Belt FAQ

Since the OP didn't mention installing a Schroth (most people buy other brands), I wouldn't give information pertaining to that brand and ONLY that brand!

Safety - Restraints - Seating Positions | Simpson Racing

This is much more universal information and clearly states no more than a 10* angle from the shoulder to the mounting point. IE - NOT the rear floor mounts for the factory seatbelt.
