Default grassroots racing, 491 miles, 3 tracks in 3 days

no its not an SRT4.. but hellofa lot cheaper..

AND outhandles an SRT4 (sorry but it's true with dual upper and lower control arm suspension setup in front)... best FWD car I've ever had on the track as far as handling is concerned.. very neutral.. no PLOWING like the SRT4 liked to do.. just that it is only 140hp right now (but it can be turboed easily enough

...the best pics will show up in about 2 to 3 weeks (got a really great prof photo of being up on 2 wheels to show eventually when the CD shows up)

...but anyway..

The car held up great!

NO issues whatsoever once on the track being driven hard despite:

- too high a ride height in front (awaiting replacements from AMR)
- brand new EMPI axles
- cheap ebay right passenger lower control arm (made in china)
- NO EGR
- NO ABS
- NO flywheel sensor
- NO Cat or 2nd O2 sensor
- 195k on tired old suspension bushings
- duct taped in headlights (missing mount hardware)

...oh wait.. there was one incident that caused a black flag and another duct tape repair (driver corner light fell out.. ooooops)

and some not-so-pro photos to show:

..and I have to admit, this is the best handling FWD car I've ever driven on the track.. color me impressed! .... even a pro driver there made a comment about wishing the GTI VWs he raced had such good suspension in front

Congrats on the Infinity.

I used to have a 91 SE-R...loved every minute of it-until I lost 5th gear, then 4th....then the car itself up a curb. Also, did I mention I missed the lightpost after hopping the curb?...lol.

Cool.

Easier handling? Yeah. Better, as in out right numbers? May be, but I'm doubtful. I've been wrong before.

As an example: I was almost as fast in a friends bone stock '00 Miata as I was in my dad's BSP '90 300zxtt on an autocross course. I know the Z is a better handling car.

Autocross and Roadrace NOT the same animal for comparison sake..

The suspension geometry is MUCH better set up in the G20 because it has dual *upper and lower control arms..

...Like I said, even the pro-driver was impressed with the handling of the G20 for a FWD..

The Miata is RWD so of course it handles ultra well and does handle better than the g20.. (I own a spec miata as well and drove them back-to-back at the track this past weekend) ....but the G20 outhandles the corners of an SRT4 any day (and I should know after tracking my former SRT4!)

I never said the g20 handles better than a RWD.. I said that so far it's the best handling FWD car I've been in. I've heard some of the older preludes are also dual front control arm setups and just as good but I've not had the opportunity to drive one of them at this point...

I thought you bought an Infinity, not a Sentra ! ? !

It may handle better than SOME SRT-4's, but not all.

I never stated that either. Reread my comparison please. But if you say it out corners a SRT-4, then so be it.

I find it an interesting comparison really. I wonder how the Nissan would handle with twice the power going thru the front wheels.

It is VERY easy to DET (turbo) it.. and others have done it.. also VE and turbo it to get even more power...

They just need to have stock axles or Raxles from what I understand if pushing over 350hp (rebuilt autozone and other rebuilt axles would fall apart)

I call

You can't get 350hp out of a FWD 4 cylinder....
