Question Car stumbles @ WOT after 5lbs of boost. Any ideas?

Need some help here.

If I'm driving along (lets say 55mph and in 5th gear) and have lots of vacuum and floor it, the boost will build. At about 5lbs of boost, the engine will start to buck. And when I say buck I mean it's like the car has power, then has no power, then has power, then has no power.

If I start from a stop, and accelerate through the gears, not a problem.

Any ideas, somethings not right.

Plug wires? I had a similar problem and it was fixed by replacing the wires.

I'm guessing that by now you figured that this is a spark related issue!

Thanks everyone for the input.

I have the NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs LZTR6AIX-13 gapped @.050. Only mods on motor are K&N air filter and the MOPAR Borla exhaust.

I cleaned up the factory spark plugs and regapped then to .050 and put then in. NO PROBLEMS!

Should I keep using the NGKs (with a smaller gap) or use the factory ones?

If I should use the NGKs, suggestions on a gap?

Thanks

Smaller gap for sure. Put them down to .035 and see if the problem still happens.

Doug,
Curious-> why that model Denso plug? ...the website indicates ITL16 for a match to the SRT-4.

The ITV 22 is the irridium, and 2 steps colder than the "normal" plug.

Ok, so when I regapped the NGK Iridium IX Spark Plugs LZTR6AIX-13 to .035 the problem went away.

Why does this plug need a smaller gap than the stock plugs?
Does anybody else using these plugs need the smaller gap also?

Thanks

for some reason rare earth metal plugs and electronic ignition dont get along. use regular old champions. or deal with the smaller gap and pay more each time. There is regular old plugs in the racecar. None of these 'spend more for this stupid feature that does absolutely squat' plugs have done much more than created a headache for me. good luck.
