Video from SCCA T2 Roebling Road National March 2009 - I was trying to learn the line at Roebling since I have an event there with NARRA later this month and saw this blue SRT-4. I was curious if anyone knew the car or owner.
The driver for that weekend at Roebling is listed as Kip Van Steenburg... who was driver for the Grand-Am race the above car was in this year, so it's more than likely that car.
Don't know the owner, but it looks alot like one of the guys in this forums. I forgot his name though.
I saw the video and his car looked way too loose in the caboose a few moments before he spun out.
Yah thats Jim's old car.
The car wasn't loose on the rest of the track. I think he was trying to carry too much speed on the corner prior which gave him a shitty look into the next corner and ran him outta track. And then when he realized it was not gonna stay on the track, instead of getting back (or staying) on gas and straightning the wheel, you see the ass lift indicating a balance change from either a fairly substantial lift or barkes. You see the b-lights flicker as it starts to rotate. Either way the car got heavy upfront and light in the ass and the countersteer was way too late. And with no traction on the left side of the car WEE! e-ticket ride.
lesson here: if you drop wheels off the track try to straighten the wheel, if you can and dont unbalance the car with any inputs ESPECIALLY a lift/BRAKES or an increase in wheel lock =] he had tons of room to drive that one out. especially since its FWD =]
was Dales One Lap car red? I saw a red one with decals all over it at a car show weekend in Ocean Park WA. The owner said it was an old One Lap car and he had paid $17k for it. He was gong to turn it into a strictly AutoX car. If I remember right, he flew over to Indiana or something like that, and then drove it home to Washington

This red one belonged to Greg Hagopian and he lived in St Louis. He had a pretty hard impact at Indianapolis in that car in 2007. Is this the car you saw in WA?
