Default Very bad time at the track<..

ok i got a 05 with stock axels 41k on car..first time ever at the track yesterday and first run..i ended up snaping a axel..i have the race motor mount inserts and when i put them in..i torqued them to specs (85lbs)..i didnt use locktite..the top motor mount poped out, bottom one stayed in..i brought it the the shop and today the mechanice said he had to tap and dye the top mm bolt and use a longer one, cause the stock one was on in there about 1/2 inch wtf!..i thought u can use the stock bolt when u use the mm inserts..so he fixed that..alltogether i need..mm bolt, axel, fix coolant lines some of them got punksured..and the cold side pipe popped of the throttle body..so tell me how much my mechanice will charge me for all that..and tell me is that normal for the top mm to pop off??

Never heard of the mount popping out, but obviously locktite would've prevented that. Solid motor mounts would've helped to fight wheel hop alot better then the inserts. And for the coldside pipe popping off, always boost leak test and check everything before a day at the track. Mechanics are all different, but I cant imagine that would cost much. O and driver mod would always be a good thing.

You've got to learn how to launch these cars or you'll tear em up every time.........Ease the clutch out, don't dump-it.

yea i def need to learn how to launch the car before i hit up the track again..my mechanice said the top stock motor mount bolt wasnt long enough,so he put a longer one in without hittint the transfer case..but when i put in the race inserts i torqed them to factory specs 85lbs and is still popped out..friggin sux..i think i wanna invest in the bwoody traction bar /h brace,i hear that totally eliminates wheel hop

roll into the water box and spin the tires just once, move out of the water box and spin em till they squeal. launch about 1800-2200rpm feathering the clutch and make sure in 1st you don't smash the gas pedal to the floor u gotta "roll" it down, a nice steady acceleration. shifting into 2nd comes at about 5800 rpm, DO NOT WOT SHIFT 2ND, however WOT into 3rd+4th is fine. and the tire pressure does better around 22psi in front and 40 in the rear

are you sure your talking about an srt-4? last time i checked we dont have a transfer case, and yes you can use the stock bolt, the only upgrade i have ever seen, is a stronger bolt, not a longer one

x1232123.4....

I learned from 1badsrt-4 and Kotu100. Once you get the hang of it you wont hop one bit. Wheelhop tears up these cars fast.

Long ago I had motor mount inserts and the top one also popped out!!! I then went to Home Depot and bought washers to hold the inserts so they never fell out again...

Just get solid MM. They aren't that expensive in comparison to other upgrades, and they'll save you a lot of money in the long run.

trust me dude, its going to vibrate some at first, but after not even a week or so you wont even feel it, unless you turn on the a/c. then the vibration will be noticeable
