Default Trapping 103 - 105

I fairly consistently trap 103mph, but have yet to break into the 13 second range on the 1/4 mile. Does anyone know what I should be running with that kind of trap speed? I'm thinking 13.6 or so.

My issue continues to be bad launching and spinning too much in 1st and 2nd gear on street tires.

I'm wondering if my solution would be drag radials. Thanks.

your solution would be learn to launch the car better. I've done mid 13s at 103-105 range on kumho all season 205/50/ZR17 tires (aka crap performance tires). Practice makes perfect son!

Now I'm lookin for faster with my new mods.

I agree 100% on the practice makes perfect. I'm on BF Goodrich g-force sport tires. I took the pressure down to 24 this past weekend in the front and managed a 2.3 60', but still spun pretty bad nonetheless. I don't feel comfortable though taking the pressure much lower than that. The SS to my left owned me pretty bad

Cool

PRACTICE STILL...I cut a 2.0 60' on this car with full tire pressure on those Kumho's (34psi or so in 'em). Trust me it's a difficult car to launch but practice and you'll get it. It just sucked for me I cut that 2.0 with a slipping clutch and hot weather...netted me an awful 13.8 @ 99mph (and a few less mods at said time).

i just got done running a 13.7@105 with a 2.35 60 foot time... i used to cut 2.2x's all day long on stock KDW's and MM inserts, but i took those out and got some shitty v-rated tires (never let your girlfriend order you tires as a gift) I'm guessing with a 2.2 or a 2.1 60 foot I could cut a 13.5x - dont know why you haven't hit 13's yet???

heres the run: note the terrible spinning

i can cut 2.0s all the time but the problem is second gear.if my 60' sucks 2nd gear holds fine if the 60' is good i burn through second and it really doesn't matter what i run e.t. wise it traps 112 or 113.btw it has bridgestone potenza re01r's on it and stage 2 w/toys

drag radials aren't street tires

I am going to save you a lot of headaches. Just get some DRs or slicks.

Yes they are more money out of your pocket but in the end you will love the results more. Plus you can still learn to drive/launch the car better on DRs or Slicks. But atleast you will not be on here whining about your crap times (sorry that wasn't a dig on you or anything, I went through the same thing. Got some slicks, problem solved). 12.3 @ 112 mph.

Lower your tire pressure as much as you can. I had good luck with 15-18 or so tire pressure. Dont forget to put some in after the track though.

Nothing helps! lol

The track isn't open enough for me to see if street tires will hold for low 13 second slip. I had run 13.80's as it sits now on Street Tires (Falken Azenias) at LACR (RIP) 2.38 60ft, yuck, that's WAY off what I did with slicks at that track (1.8's)

Technique is key however but track time is more important overall and like I said California Speedway and Famoso aren't open often enough for me to waste time like that.

Usual result is -

Launch softly, wait, wait, top of 1st floor it (SPIN HARD!), shift to 2nd (SPIN HARD!), by that time it catches and it flies...

I have tired easing into it and that's how I got a 2.38 60ft but with slicks around, not worth it.
