Nothing special, but since it was my first time racing at a track, i figured id post my times up. All of them were around the same, with my best run coming in at 9.02 with a 60 ft. time of 2.096 and my best mph at 81.653. Mods are Agp Wg @16,Bfmic, cai and tbe catless exhaust. is htis about right on, or with more experience could i get well into the 8's? also, would like to know what that would equate too in a 1/4 mile
those numbers are more spot on with a stock car...i take it you are running the stock pcm and have a CEL?

stock pcm, but no cel. the guy told me that the '04s were more forgiving for modding and wouldnt flash problem codes as often for upgrades. i guess ill chalk the time up to me being a newbie at the track, since your saying that stockers are running the same

oh and didnt mean to sound discouraging...the times are awesome for being a n00b. Ok so where do i start, shifting...if you take too long to grab second it will kill your overall ET no matter if you are doing 8th or 1/4 not to mention MPH suffers too. Im not saying power/WOT shift just try to be faster cause 1-2 shift is very critical when drag racing. Another thing is grab yourself a short throw shifter....as a n00b dont get a 70-80% reduction as its too agressive try something like a Mopar STS with booger bushings or Rage-tek's shift tight bushings. Lastly practice....practice...your 60s are nice so you got the launching part right just gotta work on the in between.

given the trap an 8.9x could have been possible but to run solid 8s you'll need to be 83-85mph. Shifting could raise that 81 to an 83 but you'd have to very consistant with 83mph trap to stay in the 8s but around 85mph even taking it easy into 2nd will still net you an 8 if you get 2-3 in quickly.
yeah, the guys were telling me for street tires that my 60 ft times were nice. I do know that i wasnt shifting into second super quick( I guess to scared to break something?), so maybe thats where i lost some of that time. What time would be the norm for a car like mine? the owner before me had it dynoed at 280hp and 310 ft. lb's. Id like to know so like you said, the more times i hit the track, ill know what i should be hitting
the owner before me had it dynoed at 280hp and 310 ft. lb's
with that kind of power if the previous owner wasnt blowing smoke up your ass im guessing you were launching concervatively in 1st to get the 60s down pat right? say 1700-2200rpm
ah, posted right after you... my times were getting a little lower each run, but i guess im too cautious and felt i was pushing my luck after 5 runs
what year is the car? milage?
honestly man its the sad reality but these cars have been out 5 years so im sure through browsing this section/rest of the forum you have a general idea of what ll ruin your track outing. If you have stock mounts invest in some inserts for the passenger mounts....dont go solid as you'll live to regret the added vibration/harshness
Ive seen the dyno charts, so no bs there. my first couple times were launches at 2k, with the 9 flat coming with a 2.5k drop. It also coincided with the tree not working, so i was able to concentrate on launching right.Alot of the other times, i was worried about the timing the launch or had some asshole stage up so the tree dropped on me as soon as i pulled up. I think i might have done better not worrying about reaction times and focused more on getting outa the hole

its an '04, with 68k on the clock. Its been cared for, but its an srt, and the previous owner had fun with it. After boot camp, motor mounts are definately on the agenda
Im not sure on the tire pressure, im thinking around 30 as they are a low profile variety. Mighta been something else that woulda helped. And not a drag newb, as ive been around it for awhile and know kinda whats goin on, just new to actually being a participant

68k...you should consider doing timing belt and replace oil pump with an upgraded one soon as insurance since you dont know how used/abused it was in the past. Not saying the previous owner is dishonest but cars are like people....you never know what they'll do. The reason i say timing belt is because Chrysler recommend the dealers have you replace it 60k on the SRT motor although most literature says 90k. Please be advised there have been a few cases of people's timing belts failing before 90k not saying its going to happen to you but i strongly suggest that before you get carried away with modding do the timing belt and get a DCR oil pump to toss in when the belt gets done. Should be good to roll for another 60-70k miles after those items have been replaced providing you dont decide to ditch the Balance Shaft system
