For a quick stock turbo car its really the tune and fuel. E-85 is where its at for a DD that you want to get the most power. Contact Duster for the tunes and injectors.
My 03 doesnt handle very good lol. Some of the tweaks Ive made wont be happy in the curves for sure.(no rear sway bar can you say push) My 05 is set up for handling. There are a few suspention mods that will help both drag and the curves but you will never have both perfect. I would suggest stay away from the dragstrip and set the car up for the curves. Then head up to the mountains and you wont care about 1/4 mile numbers anymore.I figured you would say that about your suspension setup.......you run E85 in the yellow car? I have 590cc DW's like stAge 2 injectors.... Do you need to buy bigger injectors to runs e85?.... I'll be happy with a Low 12sec DD stocker. It's pretty amazing you ran the times you did with very little mods.... That's good shit!! Save money and still run hard. Your motor must be on point... Compression..... No leaks. |

750cc for e85 on stock turbo w/ stock fuel system is minimum i would go Although seeing guys like dragvan run 11.7s on stock turbo along with a few other high eleven and alot of low 12s from stock turbo cars, low 12s on stock turbo is not as easy as it may sound. |

I run good old leaded 110. I didnt want to buy bigger injectors. If you plan to go E-85 you will need somthing bigger than you have now. Duster has the setup on that. Low 12s you will need to have everything right in a full trim car. For a fast street car focus on the MPH more than the ET. I highly recomend getting a wotbox from n2mb with the no lift shift feature. The motor in the 03 is running good for having 145,000+ miles on it .

A wotbox will save your transmission. It also feels cool as hell to power shift a car with one. wotbox was one of the greatest mods i ever installed.

It does seem a bit far fetched, but I can fathom it in my mind. I was doing consistent 1.9x 60's on stock tires when I had my first 03. Best time was 12.9x on heavy 18's.
My problem was up to even 2nd gear was useless. With the right traction and a perfect run, maybe could have done 12.70's or 12.80's. Add in a set of slicks...with the right driver who cares nothing about his axles, or has some upgraded ones, up to a full second could be realized off the 1/4 time. Add in the weight reduction...roughly .1 for every hundred lbs. and if this dude is anorexic...could see it happening. However, do you drive with your racing tires on, are they street legal or do you slap them on at the track? Reason I ask, and this is only my opinion, but it is 100% more bad ass and respect owed to drive your car to the track, make no modifications when you get there, line up and run. If you are Mr. Hyde at the strip, but Dr. Jekyll on the street...it's ![]() What did the car do on stock tires? |

It makes perfect sense to me that his 1.7 launch on DOT/low hp/low boost works....
Big HP guys need more rubber to handle their high HP launch without boost by gear.....you don't need 500+ hp to get a 1.6~ launch, you just need a good balance of power to rubber...... BBG makes it possible to get low #'s without slicks...... I mean why else do you think traps with slicks are lower than without.... more rubber slows you down! lower HP, Boost by gear, w/DOT's= slightly Higher HP, tall slicks doing Of course high HP is better....... but the combinations for lower track #'s are changing with better boost controls.
