Hey guys, my buddy just got an 03 evo 8 so of course we had to do some runs. Anyway, his car is stock, and i have an 05 srt stock turbo, cai, 3" dp, mopar/borla 2.5" exhaust, bfmic, hks+hardpipes and fpr mod and im boosting 18psi
We did a few runs from a roll(he got the car a few weeks ago and doesnt wanna destroy his clutch lol, its his first awd vehicle) we went a couple times from 20-30mph, and each time we would stay equal in 2nd gear, and 3rd gear I would start pulling alittle bit, and 4th we stayed about the same distance apart...i always pulled about a car length or so on him, and then he stayed back there until we stopped at 100-110mph
I was pretty shocked...i thought for sure I would rape him, but instead i just felt him up. Im guessing Im pulling timing, im not on pcm boost(but last time i check i was like mid-20's for timing at wot). Ill check tomorrow to see what my timing is at wot(for 2nd, 3rd and 4th)...Im going to order water/meth at the end of the week, so hopefully I can start pulling more distance on him.
But, that evo is FUN to drive. I drove it around my house a little bit, and oversteer in corners is AWESOME lol...if i install the meth kit and i still dont blow him away, im going to buy an evo

U have to tune for meth, can't just expect to install and go faster.

lol...meth should make a pretty big difference right? I was just shocked by the outcome because i was under the impression that stock for stock, evo 8 and srt would be pretty close, so I assumed I'd pull at least a few cars on him...i dont even wanna know how it'll be when he learns to launch that car lol
for what lol? I did beat him, but barely...im going to see what my timing is tomorrow on the way to work, hopefully im just pulling timing and water/meth with fix that
What psi is it at at redline? And dump your exhaust after the dp and tie up the cat back. Also if your using a stock wga try doing a spring mod. And this is all stuff that can be done in about 10 mins and can be put back just as fast.

i live in ca, so im not going to replace my 3" dp with a cutout...and my boost is at 18/16, and im waiting for my meth kit before turning up the boost. My timing is kinda on the low side, so im sure thats why the race was pretty close
Good drivers can get those Evo's into the mid-low 13's in stock form at sea level. Boost controller, exhaust, and intake can make a 12 second pass possible at lower elevations. Maybe it's a factory freak. JK
