Default Slicks don't fit

I got my M$H 26x6x15 slicks on thursday and went and boy some wheels, could'nt find any PT steelies, so I bought a pair of Plymouth Acclaim steelies (aka. Chrysler Spirit, in Mexico) and installed the slicks but to my surprise today at the track the slicks started rubbing when I raced, with the coil base, I used 5/16 separators (dunno if they're called that way) is there any chance that PT steelies are diferent, meaning that the wheel steps out a little more than with Acclaim steelies???

The PT steelies supposedly will clear everything as long as you use the proper tire choise. I think a popular setup is the 15x6 steelies with 24.5x8(or 8.5)x15 slicks.

You need the 15X7 inch Kosei K1 racing wheels from www.tirerack.com. Otherwise you're not going to find a wheel with the correct offset. You'll also need some 1/4 inch spacers if you use the Koseis because those slicks will grow quite a lot on the top end of the track.

I was told PT steelies would clear the coilbase with 26x6x15 I'm suspecting Acclaim's are a bit different, I'll also look at wheel at Tirerack.com

Thanx
Ernie

Of course if you have coilovers, you won't need to worry about clearing any strut perch.

Wink Offset

The PT rims have a different offset than the old dodge style rims...also the 26" tire is to tall for stock strut clearance...don't forget the tire expands down track, and the clearance of brake caliper is different once wheel is torqued down, even with spacers.
