Today was the fall shootout at natural bridge dragstrip and wow what a day...weather conditions was perfect, temps were mid-high 40s and cloudy, I figured today would be majorly successful but no where near this....breakdown of my best pass of the day was:

Not doubting the results, but is it the 26 in slicks that allow you to run 107 mph in 3rd gear?

well, they did help the gearing for the 1/8th, I was hitting 4th before the 1/8th on 24.5s and the 26s solved that problem...I'm crossing the stripe at 6300-6400rpms and thats my shift point

Damn if you can go 106-107 in 3rd, I guess I can go a lot faster in 3rd than I thought.

i was there and you saw the slip. that thing flat left. corey really upped his game driving. those shifts were money.

You must have taken that wrong. I said damn if he can go 106-107 in 3rd at 6300-6400, then at 7200, I can go a lot faster than I thought I could.

I just used a calculator to figure it up. with a 26" tire ( 26x8.5 slicks aren't exactly 26" tall, especially aired down), at 6400 in 3rd, the car would do 102.75mph.

I thought mine would do around 110 in 3rd at 7200, and I was close. 111.54 mph with the 25.09" tall street tires, 115.59mph with a 26" tire.
