NHRA cage question. - SRT Forums

I know if you run under an 11.50 you are supposed to have a cage on an NHRA certified track. The close track to me is Gateway international speedway (St. louis).

My question is, If I dont have or want a cage but still want to run the car just for seat time, launch practice, 1/8th mile times, ect. Can I run hard until the 1/8 mile and then let off it so I get a slower time and run over 11.49?

Im not sure if they have a time/speed regulation on the 1/8th mile as well?

They do not have a limitation on the 1/8th mile. You can run it to the 1000 FT mark and let out also and unless your pushing 500+ you should be safe letting out @ 1000FT. and Coasting across the line.
