26x8.5x15 on rota slipstreams

Can you believe I haven't been to the track with the car yet?! I'll take any newb advice. I don't plan on diving right in with slicks on the car either. I'd like to get some practice runs on street tires and then switch to the slicks at some point.

Leave hard on the slicks! I leave at 5500 RPMs and cut
1.7s all day. Dropping the clutch seams to work better than trying to slip it in my experience.

I'll set the 2 step

Are you doing burnouts from 1st or 2nd?

Is your car lowered? I have hotchkis lowering springs and just got some 26" slicks. Does anyone know if they will still work? I haven't been able to try them yet. Still waiting on the PT steelies to get here . . .

two steppin it huh? try launching from a slightly lower rpm, since you'll be at full boost when you leave. maybe 4500. a buddy of mine snapped his input shaft on his et streets because he left too high. 6k rpm. bang. walk home.

mods? 26s are big for a stock 5spd. 2nd gear burnout. just go right to the slicks. street tires have nothing in common with how to operate them at the track. ready the sticky on launching slick in the DR section

haha, yep! I've walked on tracks before and have been going to races since I was little, just never had the chance to run my own car.

Heh, trust me, it's not stock. Up around 440hp. See my sig. I want to get some runs in on street tires just to see what I can run and practice actually running down the track. That and r/t. And yeh, I think I did read that sticky.

Yep! I just have to figure out how to switch between 'burnout mode' and 'launch', but that's another thread. Wish it had a 3 step, hah.

Yea I need to figure that out...It really doesnt matter cuz if you set your VSS up. While in the burnout box it goes over that speed and you let it eat.
