You have an DIS-2 ignition?

I am going to use the clutch switch to activate the 2 step after a micro switch is pushed, with a double fly-back relay so once I depress the clutch again to launch the car and then shift into 2nd, the 2 step won't come back on, so no need to hold a button.

Last time out I got 1.84 just kinda guessing at launch RPM. I say between 4000-4500.

Yeah I have the MSD DIS-2. I have my button on my steering column off to the left side. It works great and sounds great with the button in. I love building the boost on the line on slicks!

What exactly do these do, and how do they work?

2- step? It's a device that lets you mash the pedal down from a stop and only rev's to a set RPM. Thats the loud popping you hear when cars are staging once the second amber light illuminates. Also lets you build boost off the line.

The TCS is a unit with a built in 2 step and traction control. The traction control computes the speeds of one front and rear wheel and looks for differences in wheel speed. Once the front starts spinning faster, it will assume a spin condition and reduce ignition timing.

Thats what I thought. I need a two step, but dont want the other. Like Mopar said all cars come with traction and stabilty control. Its called a gas pedal and brakes.

This last weekend was the 1st time I had ever been to a drag strip (and if you have never been, its a BLAST)
The SRT is my 1st performance FWD car. (only have had RWD V8's)

Between my nerves and blood flowing, I can't give a very scientific breakdown of my launches. But I will give it a shot here.

I would yank the e-brake in the wetbox, do a 2nd gear burnout, burn em off for a good 3-4 seconds, release ebrake and ride the burnout out.

You want to launch where you TQ arm and your HP arm cross on a dyno sheet. You want max Torque to bring you off the line, then you want your HP to take over once your rolling, to carry you though the run.

I launched @ 5k, (for this is where my arms cross) and was pulling 1.75 60' foots. It was raining (well, drizzling, enough to make the big boys not run) off and on all day. I was getting some tire spin off and on.

I didn't just slip my foot off of the clutch either, I let it out not slow, but not super fast. At the same time that I was letting out the clutch, I would floor the gas (big turbo... GOTTA SPOOL, GOGOGOOGO)

Launching at 4500 to 5000 gives me no wheel spin at all. But it wasnt sprinkling at the track either. I warm the tires up a bit more and then just let the clutch out. What size slicks do you have?

You do realize that's going to be 5250 RPM on any dyno, right?

I actually didn't, but after someone else mentioned it, I looked into it. I think thats pretty cool... but makes me seriously doubt the advice given to me at the track... I had 3 different guys with full out drag cars say thats how they all launch, so I believed em!
