Did not spin grabbed HARD and bogged a little for maybe 1/2 a second.
Forgot to shift at end of track hence the 13.000 @ 102. Oh it was a 12sec pass, but i f---ed it up. Im still pissed about that. My 22"ers had no more than a 13.000 in em they spun and were to small. I ran 1.8's on them.
Wonder what kind of times youll get with 6" wide slicks?? Keep me posted if they dont spin at all maybe ill get a set.
yeah, this is the size that RedSRT4me and EvilACR (Steve K) run/ran... Steve launched at 5500 with stock PCM and was in boost...
Can't go any wider without coilovers or custom wheels... the 26s are tall and with the Kosei K1, I'll need a 1/4" spacer or so... 26x8.5 can fit with COs and spacers if need be... which a couple people on the forums will eventually run...
damn, i know how you feel about not shifting at the end of the track... i had an All Motor 1st gen ACR, which i stayed in 3rd through the traps.... my suprise in the SRT4, as i'm banging off the rev limiter in 3rd yanked it into 4th and managed a 13.88 at 100... using 205-50 (23") BFG DRs... 2.0 60ft would've been mid to low 13s... that was my only run for the day... got there late... will definately post my results after next Saturday, 24Jan, California Speedway - Night Racing

Why do you need the 1/4 inch spacer at only 6" wide. Does it hit the perch?
Where could I buy a set of rims and slicks for my srt-4...I have a set of 14in stock steelies. They have brand new tires on them. I was told i could make slicks with those. Anybody know how?

yeah, that's about average on slicks... on my ol' car, I was launching around 6000-6200 rpms I also had driveshaft.com Stage 3 axles... Now with the 2.4T and Stage 1 I won't have to launch that high... I'm going to start at 5000rpm... increasing or decreasing a couple hundred RPM with the 2-step MSD feature on the DIS-2...
One needs to launch at sufficient RPMs on slicks cause they GRAB HARD ... Otherwise, you'll bog and may kill the engine...

do the 14" fit your SRT? Last time I checked with AR-24s 14" didn't fit, it would hit the whole caliper assembly... brake rotor may be too big for 14"...
Make slicks out of brand new tires??? sure, they'll be slick, just give them a lot of burnouts... anybody that tells you, you can make slicks out of street tires, is yankin' your chain... Get real slicks M&H from Jegs.com or BFG DRs from Tire Rack... Phatridz.com (Mike Crawford - Team MOPAR) in North Carolina may be able to hook you up with slicks and rims, they're around your neck of the woods... or give NEONPARTS.NET (supporting vendor - Nemo Foss) he's the "Neon Guru"...
For rims, if you're serious about getting some, go with Bogart, they don't leak... Keizer is also another brand of lightweight drag rims, however, they sometimes leak... give Nemo a call he knows the specs for the Bogart rims... The ones pictured above on my 1st gen are Keizer set, the pic below that has Bogarts skinnies in the back and 13x8 on the front with backspacing.. i ran 22x13x8 on those and yes they did stick out a little...
Here's the run down on my 1.777 60ft (also first launch w/ slicks on a front wheel drive):
how tall were the slicks? 26x6x15 M & H racemasters
what rpm did you launch at? 4000
were you in boost when you launched? Nope
did it bog or spin? Nope, the rear view mirror flew right off!
any feedback appreciated...
14lbs of pressure, no spacer used but definitely needed w/OEM steel wheels. Using the emergency brake, I did a 1st gear burnout at the end of the waterbox.
On that run I ran a 13.3 @ 98, that was last summer in Bradenton, FL.
RUgoinUp 2 Heaven? Ever lie, steal (big or small), commit adultery (in deed or thought), use God's name in vain? Those are just 4 of the 10 Commandments, breaking just 1 condemns you to Hell. Claiming to be a "good person" won't work in a court of law, nor will it when you stand before God. If you want Heaven, admit your guilt, and ask God to forgive you solely on Jesus' death on a cross. Then love God with all your heart, and love people too.

Track must have been nice and prepped, grabbing at 4k... this thread is very informative for those that are thinking about slicks...
Thanks for the tips... I'll try 4krpms as a start point and go from there... of course, every track is different, so the launch rpms will vary...
I'm sure driveshaft shop.com is coming out with heavier duty staged axles for the SRT4 soon... I had Stage 3 on my 1st gen and had the peace of mind back then the axles weren't going to give... those things are BEEFY...

laters...
The AR-24's 14" are too small...my 15" kosei-k1's just barely clear the rotors.
I wish the AR-24's would fit b/c that is prolly what I would be running since I already had the wheels.
I might be looking into some Bogarts or Keizers now since my slick blew out this past weekend. I'll have to wait and see!

yeah, kinda scary what happened with your Kosei K1/M&H combo, glad you're both okay and came away unscathed; you and Skittle. Eventually, I'll get a set of Bogarts, the Koseis will have to do for now (if only money did grow on trees, i'd plant me a forest...) EvilACR ran the K1/26x6x15 M&H combo with no failure... although, he only ran the 1/8th, his SRT has since been sold and he's in a '93 Supra now... would've like to have seen it run in the 1/4... his stats:
2003 Flame Red SRT-4
8.070@88.41mph-1/8th mile
265whp/316wh/trq
Looks like 12s easily with that 1/8th time and trap speed...

Definitely 12's.
So far my best in the 1/8 is an 8.3522@82.89 and my best 1/4 is listed in my sig.
During my 13.2 run I only cut a 8.414@82.47 in the 1/8. So Steve definitely had a 1/4 in the 12's with that mph and e.t. No doubt in my mind!
