What are some of the best techniques for for getting this car off the line .I have not had a chance to get to the track yet.and my stage one upgrade is sitting in my living room.I want to get some time slips stock before I hook it up. Also might be gettin dynoed next week.
get a before/after dyno and the concensus here is slip the clutch between 1800-2000rpm is all you'll need for a clean launch.

my best 60' time so far has been in the 2.2 range with the stock tire pressure and no susp. mods at all. What I do is rev to 1400 rpm and dump the clutch and floor the gas at the same time. I get a little bit of wheel hop but if you ride it out from 1400 rpm it isn't so bad and you should be out of the hole pretty decently. I have tried preloading with the e-brake and haven't found it to be an advantage in this car as it was in my honda.
To preload, stage the car, pull the ebrake and slip the clutch until you feel the car squat in the rear. This preloads the suspension and driveline to lessen shock but will put more wear on your clutch. From this all you do is drop the clutch, hammer the gas and release the ebrake all at the same time. You may encounter more wheelspin with this technique but less wheelhop also occurs.
My best 60' times (2.0) on stock tire/pressure was about 2000rpm and slipping the clutch alot. Get out clean (no hop) is the biggest thing, that allows you to WOT through most of first. I found it better to leave a little smoother and use the clutch to keep the wheel hop down. That allowed a better pull through first and a clean 1-2 shift. It almost feels like your bogging it out of the hole.
If I got too much spin./hop in first, it would lead to an early (car mph wise) 1-2 shift and obvious bog into 2nd. That seemed to drop mph and raise the ET even though the 60' was about the same.
With BFG Drag radials, I leave at 3000 with same technique. lots of clutch slip, feed the power in gradually. with the DR though you can go wot in first alot earlier and powershift the 1-2 without any spin. That's worth probobly 3 tenths right there.
I'm still stock except for a K&N filter. I've been workin on my launches and haven't really found the sweetspot yet. I either just spin or I get bad wheel hop and have to let off the gas to get it to catch. I've thought that wheel hop is a very bad thing. Heard people where bendin the bolts on their mounts with wheel hop.
I'm going to keep practicing and then get to the track. From my experience so far, I'd only rev to 1500 rpms and kinda put the gas down gradually so you only get some squaking. But ya, I need some good advice on launches also. I'm a 2 week vereran of a five speed so.... still learning. I need to get some DR so it'd be a little easier for me.

We are running a 2003 SRT-4 that runs high 12's at 110 mph range and we have not found a good way to launch this car yet! The 2.4 litre long stroke motor just loves to produce gobs of torque and spin the front slicks. A posi front end is in the works but don't hold your breath that it will solve all the launching problems. What we are currently dong is leaving at about 1200 RPM and rolling on the throttle evenly and smoothly. We are shifting at 5400 RPM to 2nd and 3rd and 6000 to 4th.
Like all of you, we are hopeful for a better locking front drive system soon.
thanks for all the advice.I never got to the dyno.after looking at the box for two weeks I couldn't take it any more and put the stage 1 in. Ineed more practice luanchig best 1/4 14.2 at 99

I would suggest slippage although I don't actull know, I dropped my clutch at 2400 and got so much wheel hop I broke the Motor mounts. SO, get REX inserts or you can ask SRTGurl what she does cause she claims to granny shift and pull 13.9's!
