Default just weighed my weight reduction neon!!!!

2720lbs, with both front seats in, full exhaust( 1 resonator, 1 muffler), and all 4 corner street tires...

So track weight with slicks and no exhaust or pass seat is prolly 2620lbs then add me 180 2800lbs

problems fixed since last run 11.8@124, removed some weight since then too:

new clutch-old one was slipping on WOT a lil
coilovers
fully cranked ftp trac bars(more preload=more tractoin)
Aaron tune that fixed my car breaking up in 4th gear, cause he rocks

raced a gxr 600 with a power commander, pipe, air cleaner, and gearing dead even roll race 75-150mph with a 200 lb passenger and full exhaust on my car, street tires, race tune....Dead even to 150mph w/ 200lb pass., and exhaust... tune was for no exhaust also............I'll do it again and get it on video after i go to the track weds!!!!

Stay tuned for this Weds results at the track

these cars are lighter than advertized.....front seats are what weigh the most...next time you go to the scales take both seats out and you'll see what i mean

my 2g neon (00 base) with full interior, full SRT4 ACR suspension and SRT4 ACR wheels/tires weighed in at 2450lbs (half tank) without me ive since added SRT4 ACR viper seats (45lbs each). Get the picture? i were making 400-475whp in a car as light as mine id be knocking on 130mph traps too

Is there a thread where you specify what you've done for weight redux?

Curiosity mainly. One of these days I'll get my car down to a scale and get it weighed.

Maybe we should have a sticky thread for people who have done weight redux and put them on a scale.

I've done alot to mine:

PS removed (line looped back to itself)
No AC or Heater (the entire box under the dash is gone).
1/2 of the metal dash support gone.
Radio & speakers removed.
Rear doors gutted.
Rear Seat removed.
Fiberglass Hood (pinned & hood release gone)
Fiberglass Trunk (pinned & trunk brackets gone)
Carpet padding removed.
Airbags removed.
E-Brake system removed (added a line lock for burnouts).

I'll probably remove the rear bumper support eventually, but haven't yet.

Then, of course, some weight has been added as the car has a full roll-cage and parachute mount.
