well I went to english town back in march and ran at the track for the first time. I only got one run in and then on my second run I broke an axle. My first run I launched at about 1800 rpms dropping the clutch, the car bogged after and then took off. I wot shifted 1-2, 2-3 and 3-4 all shifting at around 6000 rpms. On the 1-2 wot shift I got wheel hop, so I dont believe I will be doing that again. I was just looking for a way to improve my time, mods are listed in sig. boost was 18 till 5000 then gradually falls to 12 by redline(s2wga sux). With my mods I think I should be faster. Here is the info on my slip.
60- 2.267 330-6.053 1/8- 9.115@80.45 100-11.724 1/4-13.977@100.35 I have a track day set up in may, so I will have alot of time to practice at the track. By that time I will have a bfmic and a fm wga insted of the stage 2 wga. Here is a video of the run also, my name is Danny in the video (not danny cobra). Any help is appreciated, b/c I think my time should be a little better. Etown 3/27/09- Video

looking at your time, appears not much you can really improve other than mastering the launch, shift stuff.
I have a question, when you break an axle, what all does that entail? tow, how much money, etc.. |

I have a question, when you break an axle, what all does that entail? tow, how much money, etc.. axle was 135, my buddy towed his car there but didnt break, so we threw mine on the trailer he had and he towed me home for 30 dollars plus gas in his car to get home. now back to the topic, does anyone have any tips? is that really where my car should be? i did bog, so i feel it should be faster. i also have my wot box on auto instead of a marked out time, would that help?

try sliping the clutch a little. that should help cut down ur 60'. 1/4 tank of gas. take out your spare and jack,m and up the air pressure in your rear tires. if you got adjustable struts make them a little stiffer in the rear as well.

Bring your shift points down. Try 5200/5400. My car bone stock shifting at 58/6000 ran on street tires 9.01 at 80 mph in the 1/8th. After uping the boost to 18 fall to 12 by redline shift point move down to 5200 ran 8.29 at 85 mph on DRs shifting 1/2 at 5100 2/3 5200rpm. This is a stock exhaust car so you may be alittle higher with your set up.If you look at your dyno curve you will see there is no sence in shifting a stock turbo car above 5500/5600.
