I'll be participating in the IDRC 2010 season and was just wondering what most ppl who drag race would consider a good setup for an everyday driver/drag strip car. And don't get it twisted, I do have my own setup in mind so this is not a thread to steal other ppls setups, I'm just curious to what others are running and see if anyone would have any pointers or HELPFUL thoughts about my setup. My planned setup is as follows:
3" SRI; 3" CBE; Stock Turbo @ 15psi; Spring Mod; MBC; Aftermarket Wing; Home Depot Lip w/ ED Front Side Splitters; 17 x 7 w/ Nitto Invo Tires, MSD Ignition Coil, MSD 8.5mm Ignition Wires, Pulstar Spark Plugs, Adjustable Cam Gears, STS, Fuel/Ignition Controller or some kind of electronic tuning device.
All underlined parts are parts I have currently on my car, and I will also be replacing my stock motor mount bushings with the Prothane Motor Mount Bushings.

Thanks. How easy is DSP to operate? I've heard alot about it. I was planning on possibly getting a E-Manage. And stock suspensionwoun't work at all? And what about coilover sleeves? And never bought slicks so where would be a good place to look for them?
If you are talking heads up Crap man, get ready to go broke
If bracket racing what lynco Said.
Also look for some posts from Neon Nick, or go over to booste fools. He brackets in his SRT runs very very consistant times and most importantly....
Wins rounds!!
I'm talkin brkt for right now. I know heads up I gotta run low 10s to mid 9s to be competitive in the IDRC and that's gonna take some time, lol. And yes I probably will go broke...
-Ditch the MSD coil
-traction bars with h-brace
-24.5" slicks from M&H on 15x7 rota slipstreams
-AGP 6-puck sprung hub clutch
-Adjustable coilovers so you can tweak the suspension between runs
-a really good air pressure gauge (dial type, not the pen sized ones) and cigarette-lighter plug-in air pump
-WOT Box with 2 step
-Prothane lower control arm bushings
-SOLID motor mounts and SOLID tranny mount
-Don't worry about getting cam gears for stock valvetrain/cams
Since you are doing bracket you don't necessarily need to do any power mods, but please strongly consider the above list. Everything is a must-have (or must-upgrade with a similar item to what is listed above) to really get the most, consistently, out of what your car puts down for power.
The coilovers are a "nice to have" but just today I dropped a tenth off my 60' by adjusting my coilovers a few clicks, and had two runs to back up the improved 60' without changing anything else.
