Default Anybody else use 23" slicks with Stage 3R?

I remember somebody has and I'll try to search for that post, but I was wondering who else has run on the smaller slicks?

I plan on getting 24.5x8.5x15's from John but I'm not sure I will have time to get them before May 23rd when Famoso will be open again.

I wanted to use wider wheels as well, that adds to the delay.

Anyway, I was wondering what kind of 60ft times you were getting and if you had Toys what DAB setting where you on?

First gear is going to be over as soon as you let off the clutch with the 23s. You might want to think about going right to 26s. I have 24.5s now and first gear is over so damn fast with S3 and bolt ons. I can cut low 1.7s with the 24s so they work great though. Have fun. maybe post your slips when you run the 23s

I run 23*8.5*15 m&h's. I have run a best of 11.281@126 mph this with a 1.789 60 ft, so there's a little left in it.

Best 60 ft time is 1.70 so they hook very well. I am running out of gear(6300 rpm going through the traps) so for me it's time I think to step up to the 24.5's. This is dab 3 HOM.

That said stage 3 with normal bolt on's, 23's work very, very well.

Though yours are slightly wider (8.5 vs 7.5) that's great to know, I am not sure how much of an impact 1" wider wheel and tire combination helps short times.

Thanks for the information, could I ask what RPM are you launching at?

Its not a precise science for me, I rev around 4-4.5K and go.

Best on these slicks with S2-ish power is 1.740 at Famoso

Conditions should be good next week -

I think 24.5's on a 7" wide wheel is plenty. The only track I run with questionable traction is California Speedway and I don't plan on running a there unless its an event.

I nearly forgot about the Mopar Shootout! Not sure I can run both, we shall see.

Launch rpm is between 3 and 4 depending on track conditions... most of the time 3500 rpm seems to work best.

26x8s are best
24.5x8.5 work well although 1st will be short
23 are short and will have harder time being consistant as 1st is extremely short
