Default 24+ passes in one day at Santa Pod England

Well after about 25 or 26 passes my best of the day was 14.094@98mph.

I don't know how many people get a chance to make that many runs without renting the track! Today England played Portugal in the world cup so I think thats why the track was dead. It was like a damn merry go round. I made a couple passes by myself as well as the other two srt-4's there.

Anyway, lots of fun and lots of practice. We all got better and better. My goal for today was to be around 13.9-14.1 so I'm happy.

I have to say that the only way to improve is practice. I really learned a lot about driving my car. For those who can't seem to break 14.5 or even 14 you just have to practice.

LOL! I wouldn't sell it. I'm not like that . Yes I ran it through the ringer today but not without a break or running the heater in between runs. Lots of tire spinning and gear slamming and it still ran like it did on the way to the track.

My srt-4 is too much fun to sell anyway!!!!

How did you get ahold of your SRT-4 in England? I know the US military can get them easy over there but I have not heard of any british nationals buying an SRT-4.

I am curious too, what are everyone's reaction to the SRT there?

I lived in the UK for 3 years before I came back to the states and bought my ACR, my wife is british and I plan on heading back that way soon, you seen any ACR's around? Also where do you get your car serviced? The only place I know of is by Mildenhall, thats a long drive from the Oxford area, where I will be.

LOL I am US military I work for the State Department though. There is about 5 srt-4's between Lakenheath and Mildenhall. There were three of us Santa Pod on Saturday, one of which is an ACR.

I have always serviced my car myself except for lubing the chassis and stuff. I used the RAF West Ruislip Hobby shop but that base just closed last week. I'll be doing all my work at Mildenhall with the guys now.

Everyones reactions are always good. No one knows it's a Dodge Neon. It gets lots and lots of looks. I live in London where exotics come a dime a dozen so the SRT-4 looks just like any other "unique exotic import" that people aren't familiar with. I catch Ferrari drivers breaking thier necks, lambos try to show what they've got and even get blow-offs by other "turbo saloons", MG's and Alfas expecially. Even Smart Cars have BOV's LOL!

Santa Pod is the only track we've ran. We could be recognized as a club. It's funny because I ran with a Jaguar XK? and ran a better time. That same guy rolled next to me in a Turbo MR2 and asked me "what the hell is that!!???" I replied, "A Dodge Neon SRT-4, basically a turbo charged neon". He said it was his first time going to a track. His best time of the day was a 14.1 on his first run and he hadn't matched it since. I figured it was quick but I didn't know what it had. I killed it by half a second.

We are slowly trying to get a club going. We've had a couple gtg's and met up at the track and did a dyno day. We hope to keep it going over the next year which is all the time I have left. We've got a couple Cobalt SS' in the group and a Mustang GT thats gone to the track with us. All of us are military btw. We are definately holding it down in England.

Hey Viper, I am one of the guys that went with byebye to the track the other day. I am the other non ACR SRT-4 though. SRT-4_UK is the ACR.

Yeah, we got some really nice time on the track for the money we paid. That will never happen again. And the weather was perfect. about 80 something degrees clear and sunny. That doesn't happen much in England and on a track day that is very rare. Our last few times at the track were with rain, sleet, hail and snow periodically throughout the day.

Yeah, the three of us improved over .4 seconds in one day for our times. It was a great day for all of us.

Well, i have another 2 1/2 yrs here at Lakenheath and then hopefully another 3 in Germany before I go to the states. Hope to see you here before I leave.

Cool, would be cool to meet up with you guys.

Nice vid JR! Yeah It was a great practice day. I just need to get my 60' times down. Also I've been reading up alot and notice some really low times for stock. I'm not stock(S1) anymore but everything seems to be running fine. There is a slight incline at Santa Pod. I wonder if that really affects trap speeds and times?

Oh and I've been bitten! I can't stop thinking about my car now LOL.

LOL, Yeah, it sucks Kris when you are sitting here trying to think of what to buy next and what is more important, traction or power. LOL. still tring to think what is more important, DRs or normal Street tires. LOL. I am torn between the two of them.
