Conclussion (I feel I need to say this twice): If I want a cheap 1/4 time I would pull the 2.4 out and drop a 454 in and make the sucker RWD. ($3000 after fab. and parts if you know who to call and happen to weld) Im sorry but Im with auto-x and road race (and aheem! street *cough cough*)
So you think buying a SRT-4 then buying a 454 then converting the car to RWD then trying to get the car to run on top of all of that is a cheap way to go fast?
If you know where to get the parts. 4 cyl FWD is a bad setup for drag.
I agree its not ideal but it can't be that bad when I am still running a totally stock motor with bolt-ons (including a bigger turbo) with FWD and I outrun a lot of RWD V8's.
I originally voted "none of the above" But after going to the 2005 SRTNATIONALS I would have to say that I definatlly prefer roadcorse over dragstrip. Much more intense and takes skill. Not that Drag racing does not take skill, Cause it does. I'm just better at the roadcorse than the strip.

Road racing!!! Thill was the funnest I've ever had!!! period. Drag is fun, but it's over too soon & loses a little sumthin after a while. Streets are kinda fun, but too dangerous.

Welcome
How many of our country's problems could be solved – and solved quickly – if politicians were more worried about what is good for our country rather than how to protect their positions of power?
I'm glad to see since we own SRT's that drag racing is winning! Thats what they built the car for isn't it?
I love a turbo'd 7th gen Celica for a autocross handling and power mmmmmmmmmmmmm
but like frosted flakes "there gggggggggggrrrrrrreat!" All types of racing gets the blood going and is fun
