You know, I was going to buy an SRT-4, the brochure made that yellow one look really good. It's a great color, I'll take one.
----Wait, only 100 or so made, can't have it. :
OK, Mr Dodge Dealer, how about blue..looks sharp.
---Nope, stopped making blue, even though it was the most popular color.
OK, Mr. Dealer, Black looks tough, but my last three cars were black, Silver is just not right, especially with all the Mercedes SL's running around.
I know... how about Red? The one I test drove (at over 100mph) was really fun....But do you have that really nice, deep metallic red that the PT Cruiser has? Same company, same engine....
NOPE. :
.......And that is why I'm buying an '05 Ford Mustang.
The New Road Runner
13.986 @ 100.63 Stock.
13.317 @ 106.44
w/ Stage I
Maxx Fab O2 pipe
Maxx Fab Downpipe
Magnaflow Exhaust
Prothane Motor Mount Inserts
Stupid... Pay $5,000 more for a car with twice as many cylinders and a lot more hp that still can't go as fast as the srt (Car and Driver puts the '05 stang 1/4 at 14.1).

Stupid? No. I'll grant the price was an issue, but the difference was not $5K, (I was quoted $24K for SRT-4 vs $27K for Mustang).
As far as the 1/4 mile is concerned, we'll see. There are a few people with SRT-4s here that may be willing to race, and the Hockenheim (German Grand Prix) track is available on Thursdays.
But just remember, on a Mustang 300hp is a beginning, not an end. $1500 and some elbow grease and I'm looking at maybe 400rwhp, street legal.
With 400 more pounds to move around, it's not as big an advantage as it could be, but I'll have a 1000 watts of stereo to help me forget.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't a troll. I think the SRT-4 is a fine, no a great car. It suits my driving style, and I got out of that test car with a big smile on my face.
I'll just be dammed if I will tolerate something that gives me such limited choices when there is absolutely no valid reason for it. What is the crime in wanting more choices?
You can also do a lot with an SRT-4 for the same amount of money. The price difference that you got was also probably a fully stocked srt vs. a not so stocked GT. And the 230hp stock on an SRT is DEFINITELY not the end either. And that hp does better than the gt. I'm just saying with the srt you can do more with less hp. There's plenty of options with the srt as well (although i will agree i don't like the lack of color choice). Also remember that if you get a mustang you will have to grow a mullet and that's against army regs.
