I don't do a lot of hard driving in my 05' Viper. Of course I get on it sometimes as that is what the car was made for. However, when I have my wife in the car, (and usually do) she starts hyperventilating if I start driving fast.

Anyway, I will sometimes let my oil go to about 4k and then change it. I use what the factory put in and what the manual recommends. Mobil 1 synthetic. By the way, an oil change for a Viper costs a little over $100 dollars. However, as Bill Pemberton stated, it is cheap insurance and peace of mind.

I change mine every 3000 miles. I paid 80 grand for the car and I am not going to try and cut corners by making oil last a little longer. Besides, I have never understood the reasoning people give for longer intervals with synthetic oil. Dirt still gets in the oil either way...
