SRTFORUM RULES

1. Blatant trolling is not allowed. If you have nothing constructive to offer, head to the War-Stories section.

2. Post topics in the appropriate section. This is especially important for topics that belong in Off-Topic & War-Stories.

3. No material that is NSFW (Not Safe For Work). This includes posts, avatars & signatures.

• No pornographic or nude pictures, drawings, animations, etc. or links to sites containing such content.
  
• No pictures, drawings, or animations with an overly sexual connotation; ie. no girls bent over wearing a thong.
  
• No pictures, drawings, or animations that are graphic in nature; ie. no dead bodies with gruesome injuries.

4. Keep thread titles, signatures and avatars "clean". No profanity.

5. If you feel something negative towards a user/post, please try to state your case in a calm and respectable fashion. Replying to the post just to stir the pot and not offering anything of value is highly frowned upon.

6. Vendor "Discussion/Reviewing/Complaints" are allowed. However, it is not allowed to the point that you can make a post in every thread the vendor participates in to ruin his day, etc. Make your thread in whatever section you feel appropriate, state your case, and be done with it. Harassment will not be tolerated.

• If you do not have vendor status you cannot advertise your products. This includes signatures. If you need to get vendor status pm one of the moderators to get the information on how to get vendor status. Links to FS threads are allowed. See post #4 for more information.

7. Post Whoring is against the rules. If you don't have anything constructive to add, don't add anything. Determining what is Post Whoring is at the sole discretion of the administration team.

8. No personal threats, attacks or harassment. This includes pm's, posts and threads.

9. No puppet/smurf accounts. If you share your computer with other members of this forum, please contact a moderator.

10. The trader rating system is taken seriously on this forum. Abuse of the system is not allowed. If you get a negative rating and you're not happy, PM a moderator and we will look into it. DO NOT LEAVE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE LEFT YOU A NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. Do not leave feedback for fun. Positive or negative, it is not allowed.




Violation of rule # 3 will result in a 1 month ban for the first offense. If this offense is violated within 90 days, it will result in a permaban. If it is violated after 90 days, it will result in another 30 day ban.

Violation of rule # 9 will result in a perma-ban on the puppet account(s) & 1 month ban on the main account for the first offense & perma-ban on ALL accounts on the 2nd offense.

Violation of rule # 10 will result in a 90 ban for the first offense. Second offense will result in a permanent ban.

Violation of the other rules will result in 1 permanent infraction point the first offense, 2 permanent infraction points the 2nd offense, 3 permanent infraction points for the 3rd and after offense. With these infractions, the 3rd offense will result in a 5-day ban, 4th offense a 30-day ban and 5th offense a perm-ban.



Subsection rules will be enforced IN ADDITION to these rules. If a subsection's rule contradicts a site rule, the subsection's rule becomes the one to follow.

Buy/Sell Rules

Any threads not following the rules will be deleted. No more warnings.




I. General Rules

A. Items forbidden to be sold or purchased

i. Pirated Software

ii. CD Keys without included software

iii. Not for Resale or Academic software

iv. Pornography

v. Pyramid, MLM, and contest/giveaway sales

vi. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms

B. No feeler, interest, or price checking threads

C. Multiple Threads - Please consolidate threads. Do not post multiple threads for separate items. If you have a multitude of items to sell place them in the same thread. A warning will be sent and repeat offenders will have their threads merged or removed.

D. eBay or other Auctions links - Links to products on eBay or other auction sites will not be tolerated. Items in the buy/sell forum are between community members and we like to give our members first choice on an item for sale.

E. Thread Crapping - Thread crapping is rude and will not be tolerated. If you feel the price is unfair or if you have an issue with the asking price then kindly PM or email the seller to inform them. It will be up to the seller to adjust the price however they see fit.

II. Thread Labels - all posts in the Buy and Sell forums will be labeled with the appropriate prefix, This will aid us in finding or moving you thread to the correct forum if we feel like being nice. If you need a title changed for your thread please contact a Buy/Sell Moderator. Any post that does not contain the correct prefix will be removed.

A. FS: - For Sale

B. FT: - For Trade

C. WTB: - Wanted to Buy

D. GB: - Group Buy

Please be sure to post all threads in the correct section.

III. For Sale Posts (FS - All items for sale must include a price. If a price is not present the thread will be deleted, no questions asked.

If you like you can use the following format for your email so search bots don't grab it and then you get spammed:

A. For Sale Post format - All items for sale will use the following format:

B. For Sale post pictures - All items for sale require a picture.This is for the buyers safety, include your screen name and the date the picture was taken IN THE PICTURE ON A PIECE OF PAPER.

C. Paypal - Do not request any additional fee for Paypal, 3% or otherwise when posting items for sale. If you feel the need to cover your loss on a Paypal fee then you as the poster should adjust your asking price to accommodate the fee. (This rule applied to any other similar payment options)

IV. For Trade Posts (FT - All items for trade should be listed in for trade forum. Do not include a trade for money, this would make your item for sale and should be listed as a FS thread.

V. Wanted to Buy Posts (WTB - All items that you are interested in buying should be wanted to buy forum.

VI. Group Buy Posts (GB - A group buy can only be initiated by a supporting vendor. A regular member may start the group buy only if he/she is being hosted by a supporting vendor.

VII. Bumping - You may bump your post once every 6 hours. If you are responding to a question in your thread then this is not considered a bump.

Upload your image (60K or less in size) to somewhere on the web for storage. Such as Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket .
Type codes into your forum message to add the image.

To create a link to the image: <a href="insert image address here">insert image description here</a>.
To display the image inside the posted message: <img src=” file location and name”>.

Submit the message.

VENDOR RULES

Now that the board is officially supporting Sponsors/Vendors, it is time to put the advertising rules into effect.

1. Advertising from non supporting vendors is not allowed. Period. Do not post a link to your site, link to your business, contact information, pricing, etc. Do not attempt to pimp your wares on the forum.

The forum costs money to run, and until you contribute to the forums, you have no place in using it to promote your own business.

2. Discussion of products by a non supporting vendor is allowed. However, when the discussion turns into an advertisement and the vendor particpates, we will have a problem.

The line is thin, and we will use our judgement as to when that line is being crossed.

3. Group buys from supporting vendors are allowed. However, group buys from non supporting vendors (especially on products that our supporting vendors sell) will be heavily frowned upon.

4. Business signatures are not allowed from non supporting vendors.

It is in your better interest to support your vendors, and in turn, they will be supporting you. This promotes a tight, well supported and funded community which will help promote innovation.

There will be more rules added, for now, I would appreciate it if non supporting vendors would please remove signature images, text, etc. promoting their business.

OFF TOPIC RULES

This is Off-Topic Section. It is a rough neighborhood. If you do not have thick skin, Please do not enter this area. There is no regard for others feelings. Be forewarned, New members will most likely be treated poorly.
This does not mean there are no rules in the Off-Topic section of SRTforums.

Rules for posts in Off-Topic

1. No pornographic or nude pictures, drawings, animations, etc. or links to sites containing such content.
2. No pictures, drawings, or animations with an overly sexual connotation; ie. no girls bent over wearing a thong.
3. No pictures, drawings, or animations that are graphic in nature; ie. no dead bodies with gruesome injuries.
4. Discussions on organized religion should be between members who share those beliefs and those wishing to learn more about that religion. No bashing someone based on their religious beliefs.
5. No racial comments/bashing in order to elicit an aggressive and personal attack.
6. No teaming up to bash members in an attempt to drive them from the site.
7. Do not carry OT behavior and language outside of OT.
8. Threads will no longer be limited to 1000 posts

Rules for Signatures and Avatars.

1. No images described above.
2. No images that are sexual in nature, regardless of amount of clothing.
3. No vulgarity.

Reporting Bad Posts

Below a users name there is a button with an exclamation point on it. When you click this button a form is generated asking what is wrong with the post and it is sent to the moderators. The form sends an email to the mods with information about why the post is bad and a link to the questionable post.

Your identity is only viewable to the moderators/admins and will not be revealed to anyone else. If a moderator deems there is something wrong with the post they will act upon it. Reporting bad posts or posts that are not following the rules will help keep the quality of this section high and gives everyone the oppurtunity to lend a hand in cleaning up the Buy/Sell forums.
