Default What would you like on an SRT-8 300C

If I could build my own version of the expected SRT-8 300C

I would like a supercharged 5.7 or 6.1 liter engine producing in the neighborhood of 450hp.

Bigger tires and brakes...(20 inch rims, lower sidewall, wider stance)...also have the car come down into the wells a bit more.

Maybe AWD being standard for traction and a 6 speed manual option.

I don't want to see any tacky embroidery in the seats like the Grand National. I like the wood otherwise I would say some Carbon Fiber.

Maybe they could look to take 100-200 pounds off or have it the same weight as a non-AWD.

Performance...I would expect sub 5 0-60 times and the quarter mile above 110.

Maybe TV screens in the head rests.

what would you do?

Hmmm, Still believe in Santa Claus? Christmas is 9 months away. he-he!

But I like your dream machine. How about:

Blue Tinted Glass
Brembo brakes with drilled rotors
4 Chrome SRT-8 engraved tailpipes
small trunk lip spoiler
fake carbon fiber trim on b-pillars

If I really wanted to get crazy I would ask for ignition flame coils in the exhaust tubes (spark box) to create a flame when you floor it.

I think we get blue glass and crome tip exhaust now.

I want Dual Tips on each side for a total of four. Like on most new current AMG cars:

well you can count on the 400+ hp, the 20", the fatter tires, the semi lower car, etc but AWD. WRONG!

Do you still believe or know that the SRT-8 versions will be available in Fall 2004? Will they be 2005 or 2006 models? Very unusual and quick to put out a high performance 'tuned' version in the same first model year. That would be a first. Mercedes has never had an AMG version of any model in the first year of production and the Crossfire SRT-6 came in the 2nd year of production.

Default I can't see it that soon

CEO,

You may be dead on with the Sept timing but at best all I can imagine is a show car version in Sept. They are seemingly behind in filling orders and the demand has not even exploded as it will.

Next they haven't even introduced the AWD.

My guess would be auto show intro between Sept and FEB with full roll out in 2005 as a 2006 monster.

Of course..I am only guessing

yes september is still the timeframe and as 2005's is what i hear. in general the srt's will be a second MY but for some reason these beasts are just 6 months out from release of the initial. as far as seeing the cars, you will very soon.

one full model year after the cars introduction will SRT built versions come out

my expectations of the car:

12.5 in the quarter
top speed of 160
able to pull 1 G or more in the skid pad and push mid seventies in the slalom
have a custom grill
lowered stance with custom SRT developed racing wheels
a stage 1 kit to increase boost
a stage 2 kit to increase boost further with exhaust and chip
a stage 3 kit for full on racing use developed through racing in speed world cup challenge
a custom leather interior with SRT embroidering on head rests carbon fiber where the wood is or a synthetic black opal or magma rock trime on the steering wheel and shifter a custom body kit (that looks more classy and tasteful then the SRT-4) a rear deck lip for a functional spoiler

and last but not least a girl to orgasm when she feels the heated seats and massive rumble beneath her

I would just be happy with:

- Twin-screw supercharger with a manufacture claim of 450HP, but really underrated, for insurance purposes. And with strong stock internals able to handle 900WHP without breaking a sweat.
- Mid to low 12s.
- 6-speed semi-auto manual tranny as an option, and a 6-speed auto as standard equipment.
- AWD similar to the Attesa AWD system that combines RWD power inducing oversteer but with AWD maximum cornering ability.
- 50/50 weight distribution.
- Big 15” slotted disc rotors all around.
- HID fog lights.
- Cockpit adjustable shock absorbers.
- Lightweight 20” rims with high performance tires.
- And much more…

And all for a little under $45K
