I just sent an email to Sylvania asking for them to make an Xenarc HID upgrade kit for the 2005 Chrysler 300 (V6) and the 2005 Dodge Magnum. They make DOT approved Xenarc HID kits for previous generation Ford F-150, Expedition and Chevy trucks. They retail for $699 I believe.
Maybe if they get enough consumer demand they will build it. I think it would be a good product for them because the LX cars will be mass produced and everyone wants an HID option that is DOT approved. Here is the link:
i don't undrsatnd, why wouldn't you just take the $650 factory option on a 300 like i did? it makes more sense than paying more for an aftermarket solution that probably is not as good.
I understand that the magnum is another story because it does not offer hid, but that is a different story i wont get into now

You don't understand because you did not read the post correctly!
My post did not mention anything about the 300C. The request I am talking about is for the V6 300's. Sylvania makes DOT approved kits so the "not as good" point is moot. Chrysler does not make headlamps - they are made by a headlamp vendor and Sylvania is a headlamp vendor.
Damn, you come across as an Elitist or like you are better because you ordered HID on your car in January!

Yeah, I am serious! CEO, if I read your "tone" wrong I apologize, however, you should have been more supportive but instead you tell others to do what you did and just order HID from the factory! That would be great advise but V6 300 (and Magnum) owners can not do that.
FYI - Each 300C HID lamps retails for over $1k. So the parts alone are over $2k plus tax and then most will need to pay for labor. Even if a V6 300 owner is willing to pay $2k for lamps he would also have to change the entire front bumper to add the factory 300C HID to a V6 300. If Sylvania can make a DOT approved HID kit for the the F150 for $699 then they should be able to make a lot of Magnum and V6 300 owners very happy with a kit.
The Ol Ladies 300C does not HID and if we had placed a factory order it would have been included however she got $3k off MSRP on a car on the lot with "most" of the options she wanted and was not willing to wait 6 to 12 months just for HID. She could care less about HID versus a 12 month wait.
Since you have already have HID I guess you will not take the time to send an email to Sylvania asking for a HID kit. Your support is needed. I am here to learn and to help!
then learn that 22's aren't just for show cars :crybaby: :crybaby: :crybaby:
smoove7410, who are you directing that statement to?
If me - I performance drive my AMG and the Hemi's. No time to hunt for potholes or have my wheels spend more time in the repair shop. Been there done that! 22's don't help you win sh_it, make you a man, nor gets you more p_ussy, if you are interested in any of those. However, if you are only working with something small, with only 6 cylinders or 6 inches then I guess you do need all the rim you can get to help build some testoserone! He-He!
I got more respect for SRT-4 driver - At least the SRT-4 can do something well - what'cha got a 2.7 with 190HP straining to pull 4k pounds with 50 pound rims slowing you up even more? LMAO!
Got any pics of your 300? I bet you have already modified it with a bunch of 300C Hemi badges on it. Damn Poser!
while i understand what you are looking for now, HID in the base 300's (the ones with the bigger Headlights) i did not before. first off i never knew that the 300 base did not offer HID as an option (i guess it makes sense that it does not offer it) because i never looked into a base. I was set on buying a 300c from the get, there was no comparo. Also another thing to remember is evern if a base owner decided to drop the $2000 plus install on the HID factory units they would also have to get a new bumper and would end up spending probably near $5000 for hid's (clearly not worth it).
On the other hand i have to ask, if you want hid why didn'y you get a HEMI C instead of the base fleet model. Now i know you will read that as me being a dick but the reason i am saying that way is because the base units will loose value more than the HEMI c will because the HEMI c is desired and is not available as the proverbial "HO Car" (the rental, the loaner car, the taxi, the high production unit, etc) Again i am not being a dick i am just trying to understand te reason for buying a car that you don't accept as is. To me this is like the guy who buys a $20,000 honda puts $10,000 in mods into it instead of buying a $25,000 car from the get that was faster.
hope you take this all the way i mean it, not the way it may sound.
Kev, you once seemed like a nice guy but receintly you seem to be getting touchy, again WTF!?

CEO, I don't mean to be a "dick" either, but who is that question for? I already have a 300C, yes the Hemi one. I will be getting a Magnum RT Hemi soon. Since there is no HID option for the Magnum I want Sylvania to make a DOT approved kit for it and one that will fit the V6 300's for $699. I was not requesting an HID for the 300C even though that would be nice also instead of a $2k cost at the dealer.
Yes, you do sound like a "dick" by stating that everyone should have purchased a 300C with HID when they wanted HID but did not or could not step up to the 300C. Also, I think you have missed the post and information concerning the back log of 300C orders. You ordered your car in January 2004 - Ordering a 300C today may take 12 months to get with or without HID.
Kev, you once seemed like a nice guy but receintly you seem to be getting touchy, again WTF!?
I am a Nice Guy until you and that other guy attached me in this thread and I don't know why. You critisized me about wanting a HID kit for non 300C owners and Smooth, out of no where, critisized something I said prior in another thread about 22" rims! Give me a break! Why didn't Smooth make that 22" rim statement in the proper thread instead of flaming me now?
I did not start it! I posted that members should email Sylvania and request a similar Xenarc HID kit for $699 like the F-150 and you and smoove 7140 attach & flamed me.
CEO, I have read some post of yours and you have not been very kind to member even when not flamed. Your responsed are kind of mean when you correct members. See this thread:
i GUESS SOME PEOPLE ARE MORE SENSATIVE THAN OTHERS. i read that post to which you linked and i don't see how i was being a dick, so i guess that makes me a cold hearted dick because i don't understand what i did. I was slightly frustrated in that thread though because i hate hearing everyone thinking that this is an MB knockoff or it uses MB suspension or MB built the motor. this is pure ignorance! Why does this bother me so much you ask after all MB is a Luxo mark so i should be happy right? WRONG! Thereason this makes me mad is because MB has a poor quality reputation (far worse than Chry) and i do not want my nice new car associated with the junk MB has put out reciently. MB has one issue after another after another and that really kills me.
Just for the record i was previously on the market for a C or E Class before i decided the 300c was my car, the reasons were the quality issues and when i went to the MB dealer i was brushed off (i pulled up in my 1998 dodge neon) as a kid (i am almost 30) who could not afford to buy an MB and should not be looking at them. BIG MISTAKE! I ended up getting a ram 1500 HEMI and my 300c HEMI instead and i am actually very happy with both. To the MB dealership bitch that laughed an my neon i now laugh at her, i hope she knows now to not underestimate some by their looks

It will never happen, just go buy a 350-400 generic hid kit and be done with it.
joey why do you say it will never happen, if the demand is there i don't see why i would not. though i still don't understand why you would buy a car in the config you do not want, just shop around and find a car you want or order one and deal with the delivery timeframe. I am anal as hell and would not have taken my car with anything less or more than i demand
