Default If this is true...WHOA 5.3!!! 102 1/4 mile

from www.dodgeforum.com

there's a nice 5 page artical on the 300C in the may issue of car and driver, what's really impresive is the acceleration numbers they got with it.

0 - 60mph: 5.3 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.9 seconds @ 102mph
top speed: 130mph (governor limited)
70 - 0mph: 184ft
roadholding: .77g
C/D ovbeserved fuel economy: 17mpg

Those are great numbers. I wish they would put a better tire in order to get a higher limited top speed of 130. That very tall tire, 225/60R18 is only H-Rated to 130 mph. That will be remedied with the 300 SRT-8 and once they offer a Sport Package with lower profile V, Z or W rated tires.

isn't an H rating just 118MPH? I think these are better than that are't they?

As for the 5.3 times from what i hear 5.5 is normal some only do 5.7 and some do better. but dodge/chry is playing it safe and quoting 6.0

Can we get a link to this please?

No, I searched and it's not on the C&D website yet, maybe next week they'll have it up. Can anyone scan the article and post it if they do have the May issue, please.

Here is what C&D reports for the 300C:

0 - 60mph: 5.3 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.9 seconds @ 102mph
top speed: 130mph (governor limited)
70 - 0mph: 184ft
roadholding: .77g
C/D ovbeserved fuel economy: 17mpg

I am even more impresed with the 300C. Consider these numbers from a lighter (3949 lb) 400HP Cadillac CTS-V ($49,995) reported by C&D in March 2004 issue. The braking distance is much better, but consider it has Brembo High Performance stoppers and it rides on 45 series tires.

0 - 60mph: 5.2 seconds
1/4 mile: 13.7 seconds @ 107mph
top speed: 163mph
70 - 0mph: 165ft
roadholding: .90g
C/D ovbeserved fuel economy: 16mpg
