I am in D1 status and the car will be built next week. It only takes one train to PA and then overroad to me (superdave had three train rides so that sad report from him scared the crap out of me). Perhaps Mid to Late may delivery.
To answer my own question after going to Premiere Night.
The wood trim is awesome. I believe it looks better than the tortoise shell (though not much). It is sweet.
I saw the lava red, two light greens, the mag, silver and finally a metallic black (my own choice).
I am glad I ordered the black...the sparkle is awesome and the car looks even more menacing then the other colors which are also great. I can't imagine what they would do to make this car look better for the SRT-8 other than a slightly lower stance and larger tires and rims.
The coin comes in a package that stayes Premiere Night...small gift but nice.
now I wait.. Hopefully just a few more weeks...It will be worth it.
I actually like the shell much better. The wood is nothing special and seeing that the shell comes standard, I would opt for it. It's different and maybe that's what I like.

Hopefully my car will be repaired and perfect next Friday. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed...
I have only seen Lava Red inside and at dusk, but it looked more brown to me than any other color. It looked great, but I didn't see a lot of red in it. That's just my opinion, so don't let it sway you!!
i too prefer the look of no wood and was weary of the turtle shell, but now i really like it. i already have almost 300 miles of looking at the turtle, hehehehhe. most of this was spent driving around no where really, this is the first car i find myself driving just to drive.
The Wood is real, so the quality is very good. But, it's walnut, so it's a bit out of place in the interior. I like the standard trim better. it's different, and feels high quality.
