Default The build

I'm hesitant to even post a thread due to being another extreme SRT-4 build that turns out to be nothing more then a bunch of expensive parts with no real result due to some issue whether it's money, problems, or personal issues. But shit happens so at this point I'm going to be optimistic and just say it'll be a nasty car. That's how I justify the money/time. lol.

The car was VERY streetable with the last setup and with the 4" aluminum Vibrant muffler it was actually pretty quite. I enjoyed driving it around town and making the occasional pull through 1-3rd, and occasionally 4th. But I haven't actually street raced this car in almost 2 years (just guessing, don't remember exactly). But the temptation to rip the heads off the local retards is always there. But getting caught won't do a lot for me so why risk it?

That's why I decided to pull the trigger an make the car very track oriented. How? Well here is a list of what I can remember I removed:

-HVAC box and all HVAC tubing behind dash
-radio
-HVAC control box (but buttons are glued on the plastic cover)
-E-brake handle and all cables, brackets, and shoes related to it
-All speakers
-Padding on fire wall
-Airbag control box
-brake, ABS, SRS bulb
-ABS control module in engine bay
-All ABS sensors and wiring related to ABS

All of that together was 80lbs or so.

Car already had p/s, a/c, sound deadening, trunk was stripped, and carpet insulation removed.

I'm probably going to remove rear seats and carpet also. Driver seat is being replaced with a Kirkey and eventually passenger too. Car will have harness's installed along with 10 point Chromoly cage with chute mount.

Old setup:

-stock bottom
-AMM Race head
-Crane 18's
-Stock Taco mile ported I/M
-Stock T/B
-DCR oil kit
-Full Blown Rail
-Low Z Ford Racing 1680cc injectors
-Borg Warner 91-79 (66mm) twin scroll turbo
-Custom local made twin scroll manifold
-Twin Tial 38 MVS gates
-3.5" downpipe to 4" "cat" back
-tunergeeks CX Racing FMIC
-Stock 1st gen steel tank with sump
-Magna Fuel 750 pump
- -10an fitting and -8 return
-Aeromotive regulator
-MSD wires
-NGK 4306 plugs
-ACT Twin Disc
-Rage Acc. Shaft
-DCR 3/4 modified 3/4 setup
-Rage 3/4 fork
-DCR modified selector housing
-Rage Solid bushing in shifter
-Psi Fi solid engine mounts
-solid trans mount
-ARP head studs with DCR nuts and washers
-N2MB boost box and WOT box

Of course still no EMS!

New setup:
-Borg Warner S400 67mm billet wheel with 1.25 a/r housing (ordered)
-new manifold built by me (soon to be in the works)
-4" downpipe by me (soon to be in the works)
-FM long rod freshened up by me (done)
-Kevin Warren crank strap (have)
-Kevin Warren Ion treated crank (have)
-Same AMM head
-Same ARP studs with DCR nuts and washers
-FM 5 layer headgasket (have)
-DCR Custom center feed I/M (in the works)
-DCR mount relocate kit with aluminum side plate (in the works)
-DCR oil system (have)
-FIC 2150cc injectors (have)
-Same fuel tank with 750 pump and Full Blown rail
-NEW tunergeeks FMIC with Garrett core (have)
-sameTial 38 MVS gates
-Mole billet tone wheel (have)
-billet oil pump gears (have)
-ATI damper (have)
-3" IC piping all made by me (soon to be in the works)
-ACT twin with re lined disc (in the works)
-DCR 3/4 gear setup (same one)
-Kevin Warren input shaft with 1st and 2nd (in the works)
-DCR 3/4 fork (have)
-Same DCR modified selector setup
-SS clutch line with Tilton flow control valve

That's all I can think of at the moment engine wise. lol.

Car also now has a CNC brake staging brake now. ExoSpeed 3 piece front end is about to be fitted up.

Suspension is still the same as it's been:

-BC Coilovers
-Hotchkis sway bars
-Full Polyurethane bushing kit
-DCR rear control arms

Hoping to have a full drag brake kit all around. Rear wheel ARP studs are already done. Just need to put the ARP studs in the front once I take my regular neon spindles apart I have laying around. If money allows I'll consider DCR tubular K-member and front LCA's.

With ditching the ABS I did a 05 Neon w/o ABS and w/ rear disc master cylinder and it's factory lines

I spent around 10 hours thinning out the front factory harness, That didn't even save 3lbs. lol. But whatever. It all adds up.

I don't really have a whole lot of pics yet, usually when I get the chance to work on this thing it's late at night and the last thing I worry about it taking pics.

Anyways thanks for checking this out. I'm super busy right now so the car probably won't run again for a while. It's gotten cold a good bit quicker this year and honestly my car doesn't pay the bills so it's not a priority at the moment. lol. I plan to attend several events next year if all goes well.

Haha thanks guys. I don't doubt my ability to get it running. Hell a big turbo and built engine is really the easy part. It's when you start cutting out a lot of wires, changing up brake system, adding a roll cage that things become more time consuming.
