NHTSA Wants To Know More About Durango
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is studying the Dodge Durango for complaints about the truck's suspension. The 1998-2003 Durango will be looked over for problems in the front suspension; 81 complaints that the upper ball joints wear prematurely and 4 complaints of failure have been logged. Some 450,000 Durangos are affected by the study, which could become an official recall. The NHTSA is also upgrading an investigation into 217,000 Dodge Stratus/Plymouth Breeze and Chrysler Sebring convertibles in which the shifter interlock allegedly allows the key to be removed without the transmission being in park. Some 28 accidents and five minor injuries have been linked to the problem, Reuters reports.
