Hmm, you're right. Which makes me even more lead to believe that this maybe closer to what it's going to look like, rather the 1 in my sig.

It's been said that it not going to look like the new Durango, but more like the new Ram....something with a big grill.

Been following your work for quite a while Dodge Dragon, hoping that the Dakota in your sig is on target. I'd like a more vertical grill like the Ram, not canted back like the Durango.

Your newest iteration (the Red Dak) has the Gen II rubstrip and is a club cab! I thought they were killed to make way for the quadcabs?

Keep up the great work!

I have seen the new Dakota in person, and it looks identical to the Durango in the front and has the fender flares of the Durango, except the vehicle is the size of the current Dakota. The club cab model has the suicide rear doors, also.

As for available models, the original plan was to only have the Club Cab and Quad Cab. However, with the M-80 being cancelled, they may now have a regular cab added to the model line-up. I doubt it, though.

There is three models

Tommy is right. For those dealerships heads seen the truck (club cab version with rear reverse doors), it has the Durango grill work with wider flares. It looks more macho than the Ram. We call it a Ram midget.

The Ram will get the Durango front grill work also. The Dakota and Durango interior will move to the next Ram for 05 refresh. Expect the 6.1, new cummins, as options.

Your friend...

it has the Durango grill work

Thanks, my friend.

I'm not happy to hear that, though. I think the "verticality" of the Ram grill makes it imposing while the "laid back" grill on the Durango is, dare I say it?, 4duh-like (Navibater, Exturdsion, ad nauseum). Ah, well, Dodge only asked my opinion once at one of their secret truck focus group meetings where they show various directions and concepts and apparently didn't like my thoughts.

Here's 2 touched up pics of the pic in the first post.

Nope they're back up and I definitely like those drawings better than the others, personally. Theres just something about the new durango's front bumper that I don't like- It needs an opening or something, it looks too much like a highlander front bumper.

I still love that black Dakota.

I would expect to see this at the Chicago show (where truckls are shown by DCx) but knowing the folks in AH, they want to steal the show at Detroit. Who knows, it will be interesting to watch all three shows.

Hey DODGEDRAGON-Could you photochop that blue SRT8 picture you have up there with an SRT10 Ram type front bumper? Just something with an opening so I can see what it would look like.

-Actually if anyone can do this I'd appreciate it!

I'll try, but no promises.

On another note, some weird news.....

The 2 pics of the "ram inspired" Dakota.....I posted these on the Allpar site the other day.....and today, that thread is now gone. Weird huh? I posted them up again, asking where the original thread went, and so far no one has said a word.
