Ordered a clutch from SBC. One of the head clutch gurus there called me and asked if I had any questions, which I did. Clearly they know what they're talking about. He was very informative and told me exactly the process involved in making their clutches and the clamping power I can expect over stock. He basically talked to me a lot about stuff not on their website. Then I got a tracking number the same day I ordered and it was on my front step within a few business days.
I have yet to get my tranny installed again but judging by their customer service, very fast shipping time and knowledge on the phone, I am very pleased I took this route and hopefully won't have to swap in something else for a very long time.

I love turbo lag, it gives you a second to reflect about the poor decision you have just made.

Good to hear. I'll be ordering one of these in the next month.
Yes this wasn't a regular "what mods do you have?" type deal. He asked me the power I'm making now, and more importantly, how much power I'll be making down the road. With that information, he recommended a clutch and told me the difference between that and the other stages among other things.
He was also very familiar with the SRT-4, knew its potential and what WE expect out of a clutch for it. He also addressed the bolt issue and I never even asked for any info regarding it. He said they had some problems before with their hex bolts but now since they redesigned them, the issues have resolved.
I had a great cruise in my SBC 5x with steel wheel..and new design pressure plate, tonight.
Simple awesome, Smooth ,quiet and grabs like a mutha. A little over 120 miles ran so far. I can't wait for break in to be done. And I'm ready to really test it out.
Went to a car show and talked with a Lightning pickup owner. He thinks it was Todd's Blazer SS from Aeroforce that beat him last time at the track.
On the contrary, he kinda' kept ME on the phone longer than I wanted to be
Sorry about all of your problems. I hope I don't run into the same when I have everything put back in again
Since you ordered the clutch directly from them , did they charge you less then a vendor would? also what was his name and what clutch did you go with?

He cut off about $10 from the shipping cost, but I did not get the clutch any cheaper itself.
He recommended a Stage 4 clutch, saying it would hold very well into my current and future needs so long as it's broken in correctly once installed. He told me with what I want and the kind of driving I do, the S4 is the most suitable option and to stay away from their puck design unless I'm hellbent on having more than I will possibly need.
I'm not even sure he gave me his name. We just talked about some clutch things and never really introduced ourselves to each other. Call there and ask to speak to one of the clutch gurus and you should get him.
The guy's name is Andy that I spoke to. I called him up again today to ask about the break-in for my new clutch. He said 200-300 miles of stop 'n go traffic and no need to baby it; just no peeling out and no hard redline shifts.

Damn, i put an assload of miles on my Stage 3 SB clutch before i hammered it, wish i knew the break in was shorter, woulda kept my anxiousness down. Have had 0 problems with mine, going on almost 3000 or 4000 miles now. Something like that, i dont remember.
