Default Pwerks Stage 2 Trans

My car broke down about a month ago. I was having issues with 3rd gear and I was power-shifting on my way to work one morning having a blast and I broke the shift selector. Talk about pee in your wheaties! I had it towed to my local dealer and they told me 6k for a new trans and clutch and labor. I was about to give them the green light when I searched here and found Performance AutoWerks. I had my doubts but I read their forum and I decided to order form them. Plus they were the only ones I found that offered a trans tighter then the factory. Pwerks recommended the ACT streetlite clutch so nervously I gave the okay. It took 3 weeks to get the trans but boy was it worth it! It arrived shrink wrapped, all bearing surfaces were protected from scratches and the whole thing was cleaned and sprayed with Silver/Grey paint. The clutch install was straight forward, the trans install was a pain with hand tools and a trolley jack, but I got it. The trans is like shifting through butter! I can't believe this is a stock trans! It feels like a brand new beast. The shifts are like shifting through a shift gate. The clutch is a different animal but I'll get used to it. It's my first aftermarket clutch so I'll have to get used to the clutch chatter, the fact that it grabs half-way through the stroke and it chatters a little as it is new. Dave at pwerks was great and answered all my questions. My hat is off to you gents for building and selling a great trans. I'll let you know how I like it in 6 months to a year. I recommend this trans to everyone, even if you aren't having trouble with yours! This trans is way better than the way it came stock!

When my 05 trans decides to give me some major problems I plan on going with a Pwerks trans. I've heard a lot of good things about Pwerks.

ive been out of my 05 since april 10th of last year same exact problem mine also split the casing 8" from the fork rolling under while high speed shifting. *these signs... hard getting in & out of gears or grinding gears* will eventually lead to huge tranny issues don't go back oem it'll probably last you as long as the first did (34k for me) I went stage 2 Pwerks from dave best investment yet. getting the car back on thanksgiving after 8 months of being down like christmas in november. Pwerks
